Have uninstalled and installed it twice now as directed. Each time I try to do a full systems scan I recieve a this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. Of course it said that the whole time I was trying to get here also. Usually has be freezing up right about then. When I get back it says Norton has been tampered with. Must uninstall and install again.
Do I need to pay Norton 29 $ for a phone call or is my puter just getting old. Won't be back till Thurs. night but what say you.

Disable System Restore (if you have XP or ME).
Use Norton's uninstall program. symNRT.exe
Install AntiVir and check for viruses before installing Norton again.

Don't know if I can make that trip. Did the disk scan. Did Paul stuff. Now I get an NAV auto protection messege before windows even comes up. Unable to initialize the virus scanning engine database files.
I think I just about give up on this sons a bitch. Says Norton hasn't started, restart computer, which leds to a loop. Nothing would have made me happier last night than to take a baseball bat to this one and go another.

Don't forget, a lot of viruses have begun integrating Norton AV specific attacking software to avoid detection.

Well I just bought a Dimension 3000 from Dell. Should be here in 3 to 5. Then I can maybe get the other one wiped and reloaded. As of now I can't get online.

If you don't want the old one, I might have use for it.
Or I can turn it into a server for you.

BTW, Trend Micro AV is better than Norton AV.
Go to Trend Micro's website and you can do an online scan.

Cool. Kind of miffed with Norton anyway. Isn't this what I was suppose to avoid by buying Norton?
And I never thought about it but now the Dell will be here in 10 days. I can't believe they don't stock the popular models instead of having to build them one by one.
I hate having to borrow off of sis instead of being in my own comfortable home.
