Would anyone listen?
Probably not, but just curious. Lots of rock, with smatterings of everything else.

I would if your server weren't blocked at work

Only if I didn't have to install any new software.

And if you have like contests and stuff where I can win concert tickets.

Just Winamp needed, I believe.
And dtman.blogdns.com is blocked where you work, Vince?

I'd listen, as long as you didn't suck.

I'd list the potential playlist, but a quick check of my music library says I have 4,923 mp3's.

Cool.
Got any ABBA? Preferably in German.

Yes I do, but not in German.

Oh, well, I guess that'll do.

What the hell is a shout cast server?
Is this something where you spend like $79 to 'say' your stupid thoughts instead of typing them?

No. It just streams music that you have in your Winamp playlist. Makes an Internet radio station of your music, not your talking.

Although, Gordon could create mp3s of his voice, and put them into the playlist...

I'd listen

With all this interest, I'm not sure if I have the bandwidth.

I'll check it out, but I'm not sure how much ABBA and Gloria Gaynor I can stand.

No Gloria Gaynor.

There's a few free "mixing" programs that will encode on the fly to the feed to allow for a "DJ" to talk over the music if they want to. I've got a couple of friends that host shows pretty regularly and are actually very good at it. Then there are the other few thousand that should be shot.

I like the idea of doing it, but nobody wants to listen to anything with less than 128kps quality, and that means 2 listeners would be using 256kps of my upstream bandwidth... 3 users 384kps, etc. I don't think I have enough upstream pipe to make this work. I'm just on a non-commercial cable modem.

Yeah, I've thought about it before but the upstream part always kills it for me.
You'd think that since all streams originate from the same place, just one would be sent upstream, then replicated later, but it just doesn't work that way, afaik.
