Yeah after a certain number of years most songs become public domain... but I remember it being a pretty long fucking time too.

Basicall stuff made before 1922 is public domain.

IIRC it used to be 20 or 24 years until it was public domain, but some corporation used its lobbyist muscle and got it changed to 77 years... IIRC.

Maybe 77 years was the length of time you had to not talk about classified stuff you saw in the military. I forget.

Speaking of which, I once had to hand deliver a Classified: Confidential folder to the CaC room of the USS Torgtuga. I took a peek. It was the captain of a different ship in our battlegroup inviting the captain of the Tortuga over for dinner that night.

I wonder how much was the cost of the helicopter fuel for that dinner date.
