You do know you can add a "width" tag to the images, right? Force them to shrink down to something reasonable that doesn't break the page? :)

Nice Star Trek images, though. Just this past weekend I started up playing Star Trek Online again, and it's hella fun now. Much much improved over what it used to be. And Free to Play. I heartily re-recommend it (although you may want to restart with a new character if it's been awhile, so much has changed that it might be hard to jump straight back into late game).

Thought you'd like that one. Feel free to post it in your "drugs/some drugs" thread.

Why aren't these simply put under the random images thread?

Also, the drug schedule one...those deaths are just ODs, right?

If the numbers are supposed to be accurate, then probably yes. At least a handful of people each year taking LSD or mushrooms ends up dying of something else during the trip, like heat stroke or dehydration. It's the fault of the drug only in the sense that they were really stupid about how they were using it, so blaming the drug would be like suing Apple if your daughter died because of a car wreck by someone using facetime. Still, most enforcement agencies will count that as a drug death anyway, because drugs are always the cause if they are in any way involved.

No. Half a million people every year don't die of acute alcohol or tobacco poisoning (that's maybe a couple thousand). There's also no way opioids and prescription drugs only have 14K ODs per year (more like 50K). Even more, that scheduling chart is fucked up. Heroin is schedule I, along with bud, all hallucinogens, and X. Schedule II is most derived opioids that aren't heroin, pheno-barbs, amps, meth, and motherfucking PCP. Schedule III involves things like ketamin, barbs, steroids, and fifth-rate crap derived from Schedule II drugs.

Tobacco poisoning doesn't even rate a mention on that page.

You are picking some weird threads to put in random links, lately.

It says "Death Toll" not poisoning.

It's off either way. Booze plus tobacco can be linked to way more than half a million deaths per year. Acute poisoning is nowhere near 500K, though.

The chart never said acute poisoning.

Leisher asked if the numbers were only ODs. Thus the pointing out that half-a-million people don't OD on alcohol and tobacco (the proper word in each case being "poisoning") each year.
