I finally got into an interceptor this weekend. To give you and idea of it's size, here I am backed up to a loot container:
It's teeny tiny! I got it as a toy surprise in my cereal.
It cruises along at around 500m/s, 3000+m/s with an mwd. Not that I can really fit an mwd very well, as it also only has 36 power units. Trying to outfit this thing is hell.
But I've gotten the hang of it. Flying this ship is totally unlike the rest of the game to date. I'm armor tanking in it, and the game is no longer about "pick target, fire guns, pick next target". Instead it's a fine dance between turning on and off the armor repairer to juggle the cap levels -vs- nearness to death, orbiting at very high speeds around my targets as I web and blaster them, and keeping all other baddies in sight so I can make sure I keep flying so that my lateral velocity stays as high as possible. Because with an inty it's all about flying so fast sideways around/past everyone that their guns can't track you.
One on one I can shred any NPC with it. Groups at a distance can make me hurt, though. I'm working on that.
