Department of Homeland Security, that is.

Seriously. What good is it?

It shows the government is SERIOUS about keeping voters safe?

If we dismantle DHS the terrorists have already won. WHy do you hate America?

That's why.

Who else is going to do the brave job of keeping toothpaste off our planes? Yeah, it was great fun flying after that asshat Nigerian decided to suck at blowing up a flight. Fuck you, TSA. I'm getting to the point where I'd rather drive thru southern Minnesota, Iowa, & northern Missouri for 9-10 hours than deal w\ you fuckwits for five minutes.

That Nigerian didn't want to destroy that flight. If he did he'd have blown himself up in the bathroom instead of fizzling where another passenger could stop him.

If I had to make a wild guess, I'd say someone threatened his family members if he didn't do it.

This is his second failed terrorist attempt.

He's like a person who fails at suicide. It's more of a cry for help than actual attempt.

I'd say he was just incompetent, but he claimed allegiance to a particular organization quick as all hell. His association w\ them just makes them look more incompetent. Had he succeeded, that might've been different.

Seems to me that sitting in some abandoned house in Detroit along the initial approach path of the plane with a stinger missile is actually the best way to do it.

Then you are still alive to hit another plane in a week.

Evil is stupid.

Twice in one week coming into Detroit. I think someone in Amsterdam doesn't like Detroit. Or is there some giant fuckup in security for that flight?

Shows the level of incomptence with terrorists. Would anyone be able to tell if an area of Detroit got blowed up?

If they're that incompetent, they might accidentally take the wrong flight to the wrong city & blow that place up. I'm not counting on stupidity to work in my favour.

Why I hate TSA admins.
Abdulmutallab allegedly hid the explosive materials in his underwear. Security experts contend he might have been detected before he got on the flight through the use of advanced imaging equipment that is in limited use in airports because of cost and privacy concerns.

Tom Blank is a former high-ranking official with the U.S. Transportation Security Administration.

"We have got to get over some of the privacy concerns and figure out how to use this technology in a broader way," he said.

Fuck you, Tom. Fuck you very much. Go find a time machine & travel back to Soviet Russia where you belong. You damn near already make me unpack & repack my bags in front of your lax, unobservant, fuckwit officers. Don't blame "privacy issues" for the fact that the TSA may have set a new standard for governmental incompetence. The bar was pretty fucking high already.

Maybe the real goal of the TSA is to make flying so much of a pain in the ass that the only fuckers stupid enough to take an airplane for travel purposes would have to have ulterior motives.

We need to fix Amtrack. It shouldn't take 7 days and $2000 to travel across this country by train.

Maybe Al Gore is behind TSA, using it to battle global warming. And search for Manbearpig.

High-speed trains can crack 150-200mph elsewhere in the world pretty reliably. I'd gladly spend 4-6 hours on a bullet train than 1.5 - 2 via airplane.

'Course, I get the feeling you'd just see a "crackdown" (read as "clusterfuck") of epic proportions in the area of security if it got popular enough.

Actually, fuck all this. The only solution looks to be a jet pack or a flying car.

Does Russia have them? Or maybe India or China or the Aussies? I ask because those are about the only nations big enough to be comperable. I know Japan has them, but they're like, the size of Indiana or something.

India, China, Japan, France, Russia. Oddly enough, Brazil still has shitty railways.
