Furnace air filters

In NC mine was in the attic. I bet you have something somewhere and don't know it... "in the wall" it can't be maintained easily.

Nah, it's right there in the wall, and there's an access panel. The whole thing is about the size of a suitcase.

TheCatt's post explained everything, though. Electric is small and is all I'm used to in a heater. I'm guessing the reason all those other furnaces are so oddly huge is because they're buring oil, or butane, or whatever. And singing.

You must have a pretty small place too. Normally, the size of the furnace/AC is based on the size of the house that it has to work on. There's no way a small 'wall fan' would circulate through my house. Not saying I have a massive house. Just saying that a fan that could fit in the wall couldn't push enough air.

Right... when I added a couple rooms on to my house in NC, my HVAC was then underpowered, and I needed to upgrade to a unit rated at "a ton and a half." Went from 1000 square feet to about 1500. Not sure what kind of unit of measurement that is, but that's what it is.
