Blizzard will remove character pose because it's too sexual.

I can kind of understand, but I have a few problems here.

1. How many fans were pissed and how is their opinion more valuable than those of the fans complaining its being removed?
2. Which side more closely fits your core audience? They're who you should listen to...
3. The drawing kind of sucks. The proportions of her ass are just wrong.
4. Shouldn't women be able to use their sexuality as a strength?

Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan responded in the thread, accepting the validity of the complaint. “We'll replace the pose. We want *everyone* to feel strong and heroic in our community. The last thing we want to do is make someone feel uncomfortable, under-appreciated or misrepresented,” he wrote. “Apologies and we'll continue to try to do better.”

Remember when making games used to be about having fun instead of worrying about offending motherfuckers? Remember when this...

... was controversial because of its graphic violence? You might think that's an early version of "Cosby Escape" with a green leg where Bill's dick should be, but it ain't.

If some classics games were released today:

1) Asteroids would be banned because it reminds people of man's powerlessness in the face of natural disasters.

2) Missile Command gets axed because it pisses off Pakistan and India, who think it's a parody of their political turmoil.

3) Pac-Man never sees the light of day due to protests by eating disorder foundations.

4) Duck Hunt is stopped in its tracks by PETA and the ASPCA, who successfully convince the public that it's only a "small step from shooting imaginary ducks to real people."

5) 1945 is shelved due to perceived anti-Japanese sentiment.

I could go on.

Free open beta from Thursday until Monday.

Since I already have Blizzard's Battle.net app from playing Hearthstone and Hero's of the Storm, it was easy for me to download this game. I played the first open beta a few weeks ago and enjoyed it.

Very fun game. Give it a try

Is it a MOBA?

No, its not a MOBA. Its more or less a straight forward FPS but its objective based. There are different characters that fill different rolls, DPS, Tanks, support, ect. You are trying to defend/attack a position and that position changes depending on how your team is doing, or you are trying to escort something to a location or stop the escort. Pretty simple concept, but each character has a distinct roll and plays different than all the rest.

I guess its a lot like Team Fortress. I've never played that game but I know it was pretty popular among some of you here.

Ok, I'll check it out after golf if I have the energy. Still under the weather. I'm hoping fresh air helps.

I played in the beta Tuesday night. Then I immediately pre-ordered the game.

If you liked TF2 (before hats) you'll like this. It's basically TF2 with 21 character classes. It looks nice and it's well done. I could see playing this frequently over the next year or so.

I will definitely check it out this weekend. Is it free like TF2?

Nope, it's $40 at launch. But then TF2 wasn't free like TF2 at launch, either.

I bet it will be free with a robust hat market within two years.

I guess open beta did start yesterday cause I was able to play last night, I'm pretty sure i'll be buying this game. I like the diverse roster of characters and I'm sure it will only grow with time.

So far I like playing Phara the rocket launching, jet pack wearing chick and the mild mannered gorilla Winston.

Speaking of Winston, he's cool as hell in the opening cinematic to the game.. (I'd post the video here but for some reason I can't anymore, just get an invalid BBCode.. whatever that is.. So i'll post a link instead.)

It's a nice video, but it really does nothing to explain why two groups of agents are fighting each other.

It's not a story-heavy game.

I watched some videos of this over the weekend. It looks nice, but I was never inspired to download the game.

The $60 price tag is a pretty big obstacle for me. It's not the money as I'd shell that out right now for a title that's earned it in my eyes. It's the principle. $60 is a console price, not a PC price. I wouldn't pay $60 for GTA V and I was desperate for that game. Plus, this genre of game has dozens of variations out there for PC and they're all free...

If it's uber awesome and everyone else is playing, I'd be far more tempted to buy it, but I'd still be very turned off by that price tag.

I also watched a few streams of the game before I ever downloaded it and also never thought it looked any different than any other FPS. But I found that just watching it you don't really get the feel for the characters and what they are really doing. But hey, I can understand not wanting to pay that much for a game, I still haven't purchased it yet myself.
