I hope they get back the masses of shit coming at you. DOom 3 lost that, iirc.

Yeah. I kind of miss games that play by Commando rules.

I'll reserve judgment for the full trailer.

The core loop of gameplay is known by id as "push-forward combat," so anything that makes players slow down and pause is immediately removed.

Wonder if they'll also include some Adderall or meth to help on the player end.

Games that constantly push you forward can be fun, but they usually suck unless they're 2D platformers...

I remember going over old Doom I and II levels to suck up all the ammo and health power-ups before heading on.

I remember a room in DOOM II full of the major demons... you're like, "What the fuck do I do about this?" And then you remember that if they receive friendly fire, they will turn on each other.... so I stepped into the room, counted 1 Mississippi, then left the room after they all fired on me... hitting each other... and I listened to the sound of them killing each other from the other side of the door.

Good times in Hell.

That was also awesome. I forgot about the infighting.

I kind of get that's keeping to the solo hero legacy they want to maintain. On the other hand, if I'm forking out $$$ for something, I'm less likely to spend high amounts if I can't play with my Steam list.

No Coop? But that's not true to the movie it's based on!

Well damn, if we're talking about being true to the movie, why don't Karl Urban and the Rock both parachute from above and take a flying shit on everyone that's dumb enough to pay for it.

John Romero makes you his bitch one more time.
It's been 21 years since I made a DOOM level. Here's my version of E1M8 using DOOM1.WAD.

Let me know when someone gets it running in a browser. I don't want to emulate the original game then figure out/relearn how to run custom maps. I haven't done that in 20 years.

Well, 18 years, maybe.

As long as it doesn't suck up memory like Privateer II, I bet I can make DOSBox work.

To play it, the tool ZDoom or other similar software plus the original Doom are required.

Exactly.

Again, this game could be run in a browser.
