But only if you are big enough to eat it. If you are smaller it's good for hiding.
Additionally you can use W to shoot bits of yourself, and if you shoot a spikey ball seven times it will split and fire off one like itself. Good way to attack a larger enemy and break them up.
I've been playing this in spurts for weeks. Very addictive. Best I've done is #2.

Interesting. I played 2x a few weeks ago. I gotten eaten immediately both times.
I made it to about 2" in diameter, then hit that stupid spiky thing this time.

Oh, my favorite bit has to do with those W bits you can shoot out. When you start you are exactly the same size as those bits, and whenever someone starts if there are some of those bits somewhere on the board it'll use those as their starting point. So later when you shoot out bits sometimes those bits run off and start eating stuff.
That's why sometimes you start in the middle of a battle; that probably means you just started as someone else's spent ammo.

Sorry, I thought you knew.
Yes, spacebar will split you in two, shooting forward half of you. As a defense it's a way to try to save half your junk when things are hopeless. As an offense it has drawbacks in that you immediately become a bigger target for everyone who can eat something half your full size. I only use it for offense if your initial split will hit enough good targets to bring it up to roughly your previous full size, so mostly use it only for multiple juicy overlapping targets right in front of you.
