I've had a grudge against the Navajo since the day I drove 8 hours to hike around Monument Valley, and they closed the desert the day before due to covid. They also closed Four Corners at the same time.

They closed the empty desert for covid.

Today I saw a picture of Shiprock, and thought it looked like a cool hike. So I looked into it a little, and no, the natives there don't allow it because of the absolutely horseshit excuse, "It's sacred."

I think we've left the natives with too much power of public lands in the USA, and we need to start thinking about our proud history of ignoring treaties, and calling in the army. They are 100% abusing what little power they have to get back at whitey, and I'm willing to go to war over it.

First, they're not more native to this land than you or I.

Second, the whole "sacred" thing should only carry so far. Yes, we respect your culture, but should everything "sacred" be considered untouchable? Someone can't go hiking because your ancestors were superstitious, ignorant, and worshipped gods that don't exist? Can I just declare that the whole state of Michigan is sacred, and thus, nobody can do anything anymore without my permission?

Fuck that dummy, if were bringing anyone back like that it's gotta be General McKenzie or Colonel Nelson Miles. Those Comanche were terrifying sons of bitches.

"My ancestor once took a dump here. This valley is sacred and closed."

Fuck that.
