Time Bandits (TV Show)

Taiki Waititi made this one I guess. I expected it to be good.
It's................. meh. The midget time bandits aren't, any more. And Lisa Kudrow is one of them. Except a couple midgets did show up in episode 3, which is interesting I guess.
Once a demon who is tracking the earth boy (waylaid by the TB pretty much like in the movie) stumbles upon his sister, and growls, "You aren't him." She says something about the demon not knowing her pronouns. Aight.
It's isn't very funny. A theme seems to be the boy being their moral compass, "stealing is bad," mostly. But also, 3 episodes in, there's a recurring theme of history not being what we were told, and the "bad guys" would experience personal growth if they were taught they didn't need to be violent.
IDK.
Jermain from Flight of the Conchords plays "Pure Evil," and I feel like he's kind of being wasted. IDK.
Not sure if I can recommend this one yet. Half way through the season.
