Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024)

As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024)

Post by Leisher »

Smith and Lawrence are back for, hopefully, their final team up.

The performance Smith puts in here is possibly the worst of his career. All of his charm is gone and years of abuse at the hands of Jada are all that remain. He genuinely looks like a broken man with no love of life anymore.

Meanwhile, Lawrence is bloated and either high or drunk the whole time. Ok, he probably wasn't, but damn it seems like it. He slurs, his eyes look messed up, and he clearly has trouble getting around. I know he's had health issues, so if those are the cause, apologies, but it's very noticeable.

The story has one dimensional and predictable baddies framing Captain Howard for being a dirty cop, who despite being dead is featured throughout the movie. Smith and Lawrence go to clear his name and forgettable action ensues.

Overall, it's a very boring and predictable film. The savior throughout was Lawrence, who despite the clear health issues, still feels like he IS the character. There's a running joke about Smith and Lawrence being soul mates with past lives and whatnot that starts off weak, but grows on you. It's the best bit in the film, and stick around for a stupid payoff in the credits.

If this is what Smith is bringing the rest of his career, it's over. He should go ahead and sign up for the next Sharknado now.
