And yes, her nomination, let alone win, was comical. The movie was a total failure and pretty much sealed the casket on the Hunger Games franchise, but she got enough votes to win action star of the year. That math ain't mathing.

I'll even be fair to Rachel Zegler here and say that she's not unattractive. When she's all dolled up, I'd say she's hot adjacent. You know, IF she's not talking and revealing her terrible personality clearly formed from a life without obstacles, just opportunities unearned.

The real villains are in casting and makeup.

When you cast a 10 as the person the mirror says is no longer the fairest of them all, you need to absolutely NAIL Snow White. Rachel's a 6 who scores as a 7 when she's really dolled up. She can't be dolled up as a peasant girl. Giving her the Lord Farquaad haircut didn't do her any favors either.

I really do not understand why Disney isn't just pulling the plug on this and taking the tax write off. They know it's going to bomb. Actually, now that I think about it, I wonder if it's so the characters don't fall into the fair use stuff?

First, you had Dinklage pushing over the ladder of success so nobody else of his stature could follow. Then you had the woke replacements, "The Seven Magical Creatures". Then you have brown skinned Rachel Zeigler playing Snow White, "whose skin was as white as snow". Now it's "I survived a blizzard". You have natural 10 in beauty, natural 3 in acting ability Gal Gadot playing a queen/witch jealous of natural 6 Rachel Ziegler's beauty. The magical creatures are replaced by nightmare fuel CGI dwarves, further pissing off the smaller actor community and frightening children everywhere.

Rachel Zeigler alone has turned off most of the audience with her grating, insufferable personality. Born into privilege and apparently never heard the word "no". She shit all over the original Snow White, her co-stars, and even the damn ride. She then was pushed into an apology tour that did not go well. She followed up by getting into a feud with her co-star, Israeli born Gadot, over Zeigler's far left politics, which includes unwavering support for Palestine. Then she wished all Trump supporters "would never know peace", something she later apologized for, but the damage was done. Turns out, raising your kid to be an entitled cunt might not be the best strategy. It does make for good memes though. I think the "weird, weird", and "it's Hollywood baby" quotes are going to exist for a long time.

Now there are reports out there on YouTube, Reddit, etc. that people are going onto their local theaters' sites to see how tickets have sold, and it's very, very few. A YTer I follow in Philly showed himself going to theater sites and there were 3-9 seats sold depending on time. I just checked one of my local theaters and the "bells and whistles" theater has sold 11 tickets for the opening night show at 8 p.m. The regular digital theater has sold 3 tickets for the 7 p.m. show. Meanwhile, box office estimates have fallen from as high as $85M to $50-$56M for opening weekend. This was a $300M+ movie. That doesn't count marketing.

It will likely make its money back eventually, but this has been a disaster for Disney.
