I thought Alien was a dead franchise, but this trailer is pretty awesome.

Looks dark, but I don't like the idea of facehuggers able to crash through glass. They never could before.
Immersion destroyed.

Never saw so many at once before. Also, was the previous glass a different type? Some glass is easier to penetrate than others.

I mean, they generally seemed fragile. Couldn't get through the window in med bay. Couldn't get through plexiglass tank in other med bay. Couldn't get through the unbreakable window in other other med bay.
I would think glass windows on any space ship would be pretty strong.
I am nitpicking hard. The mouth rape bit was very classic Geiger.

Maybe the glass had previously been cracked?

Pretty obvious they are trying to recapture the magic of the original. I love the portable x-ray shot.

A truer sequel to the original movie than anything since, even Alien$.
It takes place
20 years after the Nostromo sploded.
The Company is still fucking around with it, since they sparked the original Nostromo detour in the first place, and we know that because of Prometheus and Covenant that they knew about all that shit long before anyway.
Anyway, this movie is a ton of member berries.... lot of lines get reused, lots of set design (including the tupperware drinking cups that I'd forgotten about), and even characters.
It's young-people driven, and even though they have a couple super annoying young-people moments, their motivations make a hell of a lot of sense because the company is shown to be evil in an entirely new way. So you end up rooting for the annoying teenagers for a change.
I still don't like the new 7-minute face-hugger to chest-ripper cycle, and I still hate "how did it get the mass to grow from 7 inches to 7 feet in 7 minutes?" process.
All in all, it's a serviceable Alien movie, and better than maybe half of them.

Same complaints, same praise. Better than everything else since Aliens, but still not great.

I know it's been the process since at least Friday the 13th, but they need to get away from the all-teen casts.
In everything.
And also don't let them vote until they're 25.

To be fair, I don't think they was a single teen in the cast, they just acted like it. However, I'm with you. Amazing how important it is to include white, black, Asian, male, female, and so on, but not older.
