Different strokes for different folks. I thought they had really good chemistry, but yes, the whole point is that he's mostly a coward.

That movie has three fantastic one liners that I use whenever I can: "Lunch", "On stage, like you.", and "What did the East German judge give you?"

Don't you hope if there is an afterlife that this is what really goes on?

"Kindness" goes a long way, sometimes. But personally I like someone who accentuates my derring do, doesn't stifle it.

I just thought his lines were kinda lame. He's not attractive, he has nothing going for him. Whereas Meryl's character is the pretty much complete package.

This movie just reeks of wish fulfillment

Albert Brooks wrote, directed, and starred in the movie, so I'm guessing he had a big say in casting.
