Chinese. What caught my attention was the ad "By Steven Chow, maker of Kung Fu Hustle!" I was in right there.
This movie is about a minor demon hunter who's trying to do it peacefully, but keeps getting shown up by peeps with more violent methods.
The tone of this movie is all over the place. In a single scene you see a little girl get horrifically killed by a demon, and in the next moment there's slapstick.
As expected, the protagonist has a big evolution at the end, but I don't feel like it was earned. MAybe there was something literally lost in the translation.
It's ok. Not great.
