I think I have some version of it. I remember faces very well, but at a bit of a distance faces lose all defining features to me. No, it's not a regular vision thing because other things at that same distance maintain detail, but faces kind of wash out.

It's a sliding scale. My wife is 10x better at faces than I am. If I see people in an unusual context, I often cannot recognize them.
