Pacific Rim: The Black

Cartoon on Netflix, several episodes.
I heard good things about it, supposedly a much better sequel to the first movie, than was the sequel.
But here's my observations of the first episode:
Australia is overrun, people are abandoning.
Some kids don't get out in time, but they are placed in a paradise oasis until help can arrive.
5 years later, no help, and the kids have created farms and shelter, so they're good forever. Big brother is in charge, little teen sister is frustrated because she isn't living her best life. So she decides to break the rules so she can OMG LIVE A LITTLE, and literally ten minutes later she gets everyone killed. She never stops whining about it.
I'll keep going but I hope the kids stop being stupid and annoying.
