The logical next step to VR.

Troy, does your wife know about this?

Seems crazy expensive, but a holodeck is closer than we think. :D

Probably not, Portal was so popular over the holidays she never transitioned to VR. Think she's going to get promoted to a higher-up web operation position now instead.

Meh. It's going to end up smelling like used hockey equipment. And when you have friends over to play with it, who's going to want to climb in right after you once you've got it coated in a nice layer of sweat? Ever put on a water ski jacket after someone else just wore it? Except this one's full of sweat.

You overestimate the number of visitors/friends most gamers have :)

heheh I suppose that's true. I look at how I use my VR system now. It gets used FAR more when I'm with other people. But, I've always been a social gamer. I skip the single player story lines and start right out with multi player skirmishes. I've played 100's of hours of TA, but I've never done either story line. Played the shit out of Red Alert, did one story line. I think the Half Life series are the only single player games I've completed. Other than that, they were all Co-op (Halo split screen on Xbox, Boarderland, etc.) Oh ya, and Bio-Shock. I don't count Fallout 3 because, although I finished the story line, I bet I only did about 1/3 of everything. There were a TON of unfinished quests/tasks and unexplored portions of map. The list goes on. So when I see stuff like that, my first thought is "how do I play with that with other people?".
