Ok, I know I'm late to the party, but help me learn:

I haven't had a lot of luck casting anything to my big screens, in spite of all the googling that tells me how easy it is.

I've been able to cast to my Google Hub screens easily, but no one is going to huddle around the 7 inch screen to watch porn.

But I'm supposed to be able to cast to my Rokus pretty easily, too. I've tried various casting apps on my cell phone, and various casting apps on my Rokus. No joy.

One of the hurdles I have is that "Make sure the casting device, and receiving device, are on the same network." As far as I can tell, having my receiving device on the LAN, and my cell phone on wifi (obviously), means they aren't on the same network.

Has anyone found casting to a Roku easy?

"I'm HUGE compared to that guy!"

I don't know anything about rokus. I only use Chromecast devices.

I'll be able to compare/contrast soon enough.

Often I'll be able to see the various Rokus in the "to which device do you wish to cast" list. The receiving end is visible to the broadcasting device, but then it never works.

I have two Roku, but I'm not sure I have ever casted to one?

The different networks thing might be the issue, I've fought with that before getting the Google Nest going after it wiped by mistake.

What kind of TV do you have? Is it smart? Probably easier just to cast to it, if so. Samsung has a SmartThings app specifically with casting as a feature.

I have a RokuTV, the "smart" aspect is a built-in Roku. No luck.

And on another dumb TV I have a Roku Ultra. Also does not work.

I would list all the dumb easy shit, but I'm sure you tried it all.

Although, I will ask if you updated the Roku software?

Call Roku support.
