We had a story about the rise in pet theft in the UK somewhere, but I couldn't locate it.

UK lawmakers are upping the punishment for such crimes.

Honestly, the death penalty is probably a fitting punishment. If you're willing to take a cherished family member from innocent people and put them through all that pain just so you can make a buck...well, the human race doesn't need you.

Horse owners in high-immigrant areas often find their horses stolen from the pasture, and then find the body in the woods 5 miles away with its back legs missing, butchered for meat.
