Been selling stuff I bought on Gravy using eBay.
Today, I got a notice that someone contested the charge of the thing I bought using Paypal, saying it was an unauthorized purchase. For a $199 item.
Fortunately, I was covered by PayPal Buyer Protection, so I got to keep the $$$, but damn.

The buyer claimed they did not authorize the purchase (they were hacked, or something).

So they would try and get... what... their item back from you?
I always assume people are scamming.

Oddly, I got the $, and eBay is also refunding my fees.
All associated fees have been credited to your account. In these situations, we'll credit the final value fee for removed listings won by this buyer, and also the insertion fee if it was a single-quantity listing.
- We have credited all associated fees except for the final value fee for your listing(s).
So... I guess I get $20 back?

You said it was an item you bought, and gave them $200. I'm not seeing the connection to "they get the item for free." You have the item? Or... you paid and then they never sent the item, and contested....
it doesn't make sense.

I bought on Gravy. I re-sell on eBay. So I sold an item for $200.

Ooooohhhh. That was the missing element.
And that's what prompted my original, "What was their argument?" question. Didn't make sense.
