Wife's mom is terminal. It's hospice, chemo to push it out a little longer at best.

My mom having a double mastectomy Friday to hopefully remove her cancer.

I really hope we're on the verge of a new age of medical breakthroughs. I know the covid vaccine has made them realize they could basically do the same with MS, MD, and other such things. I also know we're thisclose to beating cystic fibrosis.

Mom's cancer battle ongoing. MIL's cancer battle is nearing its sad end. Just painkillers for now on, no treatments.

I really wish right to die were universal in the US.

Why stop with cancer, when you can also have dementia, and painkiller-induced paranoia. Seriously, people should be allowed to end their lives when they can still make that decision. Or give that power to someone else.

My gf's cousin somehow contracted Mad Cow Disease last month. And it swept through his brain, erased his memory within 2 weeks, and killed him 2 weeks after that. This is apparently not rare.

I told her that if something like that happens to me, let me watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy for the first time, again.

I don't think she thought that was funny.

For C's mom, though, she can't focus enough on movies, or books or much of anything.
