A fun analogy just occurred to me.

Alex Jones is to right wing politics as Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton are to race politics.

I actually thought he was closer to Borat than a legitimate political figure when he showed up in Maricopa County. What he was screaming at the crowd was overtly ridiculous, and pretty fucking funny, in an insane way.

I believe that's an older article and the jury ruled he has to pay $4M to victim's families.

I think any person who has a platform to the public that is caught blatantly lying should be permanently barred from ever being allowed to have a public platform again.

CNN was caught admitting they manipulated their audience to ensure a Biden victory. Seems like that's far more damaging to a lot more people than some BS lies that anyone with an IQ over 10 didn't believe.

Fox News is almost the Trump propaganda network. They kept pushing election conspiracy theories and pretended, the admittedly overblown, Jan 6th did not happen at all.

MSNBC is to news as a ghetto strip club on a Saturday afternoon is to the porn industry.

All are constantly spinning stats and stories to push specific agendas. How is this really much different than what fuckwit Alex Jones was doing?

The only nutjob like this I remember was a show on late night radio where people would call in about UFOs and conspiracy theories. I would occasionally hear it when taking a shower late. This was before podcasts and Pandora.

The families of Sandy Hook want $2.4T in damages from Alex Jones on top of the almost $1B he's already been ordered to pay them.

The guy who actually murdered their children had to pay $1.5M in damages.

Of course, that killer also didn't profit off the deaths of those children...
