So I've alwyas thought that implants were the key to mission LP rewards.

Then yesterday, I got an offer for a skill book. In the past I'd received crappy book offers, like Caldari Battleship, etc that were less than 1mil/1k LP.

But yesterday's book was Political Connections. It grants a 5% LP bonus to mission-runners for various departments. The cheapest one on the market? 80mil.

The offer cost me 10mil isk and 15K LP. In exchange, I got the book, and sold it for 75mil isk, netting 65isk or 4.3mil isk/ 1k LP. That compares to 1.5mil/1k to 2.5mil/1k for +3 implants.

w00+!

And while Troy is still tons richer than I am, that puts me right under 200mil.

Been doing some research, talking with our local friends in Babylon/TNC (who are now Positive standing to us, and we can run to their POS if we get under attack in CR)

A basic POS, for what we would want, is about 250-300m. This ain't that far off, at all. Obviously the corp funds would be used up, but some of our richer members could definetly put us over the top. Definetly something to think about for the future.

Not sure why I didn't make this a new topic, but we were talking about money, and It was something I was thinking about!

So it'd cost 250mil. But wht about maintenance, or it getting blowed up all and stuff?

We can build it up with enough weapons systems that it would take a dreadnaught fleet to blow it up for the price.

We haven't pissed off anyone who has access to a dreadnaught fleet, luckly. Nor should we.

I'd say about a month or less and we would be ready.

Maintenance isn't that bad, a group mining/ratting op once a month could easily cover the costs.

If we were really worried about security, we could join one of the new Alliances that are going to spring up soon in PB.

I know babylon, who is a primarly mining/Tech 2 producing (rich) are going to start one. They don't fight anyone dangerous, other than the normal pirate scum. They already contacted me to see if we were interested in being their security/pvp wing. They also have access to a BS fleet, that would defend any POS attacked.

I'm just throwing this stuff out as ideas, but I think it would be fun to make a place we could call our own.

Back to the original topic for a second:

My new $ plan:
- Get a BS, run missions with and build up to 15-20k LP.
- Go to 0.0 space and hunt.
- Get offer. If crappy, reject, return to 0.0.
- If good, accept, run missions to 15-20k LP.
- Rinse.
- Repeat.

I might be inclined once I get up to speed.

I may be taking off the entirety of spring break from work into order to catch up on academic shit. Jesus Lapdancing Christ, that just sounds depressing.

I shall endeavour to be wasted much of the time. But I got multiple projects that're starting to creep up on me, probably gotta switch advisors, & other sorts of bullshit.

On the other hand, maybe I'll be able to afford a Ferox finally.
