I, too, find the NAACP super offensive.

Yeah, I don't get that one.. I also don't get why "oriental" is racist.

The odd part is she claims to have meant to say "people of color" vs "colored people".

How is one offensive and one not? It's the same thing. And I'm not saying she's wrong, she's right about one being less offensive, and it makes no sense.

I heard oriental was bad because it is identifying people based on a geographical location. I have heard plenty of sensitive liberals, however, never hesitate to negatively generalize "southerners."

As my wife like to remind me, ORIENTAL IS A RUG. Apparently some of her Asian classmates hated the word, and that was their excuse.

But if you call them asian, aren't you generalizing them based on a location? It makes no damned sense.

Fuck that. White people? Cool. Black people? Acceptable. Call other people yellow and shit hits the fan. They already get deference. Oriental is fair game.
