TV show about a hacker who is torn between big corporate conglomerate and small hacker collective. Said hacker is also schizophrenic. Christian Slater is the head of the hacker collective.

I've only watched the first episode, but it's pretty solid so far. There are actual computer terms and commands on screens, certainly the most realistic depiction of hacking I've seen in media.

Heard good things and hope it stays good.

I've always said that watching a hack occur in real time would be boring as shit for most people.

They drama it up a bit, but not nearly as much as others.

Its on USA so whatever the tone currently is expect it to completely shift in the final season.

Weird, I could swear we talked about this one when the first season was airing last year. Yes, watch it. It's one of those shows that will have you going back and looking at prior episodes for the things you didn't notice the first time through. Sure it's basically a retelling of a well-known movie, but so what. It's done well.

I noticed season two just started collecting on my DVR but haven't watched yet.

Never mind, it was an hour long special about the first season show, it's unexpected success, and the upcoming second season.

In the special show creator Sam Esmail said something like the second season will take the show in a whole new direction. *sigh*

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG... the song to end episode 9 (season 1). That was BEAUTIFUL. Wow, best moment of TV for me in a long time. Long time building to that.

Literally gave me chills. I've loved that song for decades... it gave me chills in [MOVIE] as well. It was just a beautiful nod to that movie and the show.

I remember really liking more than it seemed to deserve on the surface although I couldn't quite put my finger on why. Nice to see a confirmed nod to [MOVIE] given the nature of the narrative so far. I mean it was a thing everyone was saying, so it's just nice to see that they were well aware.

I heard good buzz about this show when it first started, but then that buzz dropped off a cliff. I'm glad I never got into it.

Season 1 was great. Season 2 is a ponderous, self-examining march towards nothing. There are moments that are really good, but it feels like half of every episode is people staring with moody music.

Season 3 is much better than Season 2, but not as good as Season 1.

I picked this show up again because I thought it was done, but turns out that Season 4 starts up Sunday, October 6th at 10 p.m. on USA.

Season 1 was... ok? I don't think I get the hype. And I saw the twist coming from like episode 1, even though they tried to trick you about it in the late episode. It's an "Anonymous" wet dream.

I really enjoyed S1

But apparently not beyond that, and I never bothered with S4.

Here something I keep wondering about, is the company actually called "Evil Corp?" Seems like a nickname but even the executives refer to it as such.

the narrator is unreliable, so its a distorted reality being told. The real name is E Corp, iirc
