Apparently I can still watch this by logging into FXX using my SlingTV credentials. Our-cut-the-cord cable "package" is Sling, HBONOW, CBS(new), Hulu, and bunny ears that only work for getting ABC. Maybe 40 bucks total.

Damn you for supporting that bullshit CBS service.

Why do you even have it? Are you guys in your 80s?

I was hoping FXX would somehow make it funny, but that seems too far to hope.

Football. It's like 4 dollars a month for NFL football. The hills block our bunny ears for literally everything but ABC. When the Superbowl was here they made sure to set up an NBC tower that everyone could watch, but promptly took that shit down right after.

You know those analog signals, by law, were supposed to be gone years ago? How long until bunny ears don't work?

Digital antenna for the sweet HDs. That's what bunny ears are now.

What is an Analog? Sounds like something they do in dark corners of the internet.

I like how they recovered from the previous season's ending, but the first episode was so gritty and deep into the new tone that the forgot the laughs. There were some, but not the type they had previously.

I think they moved away from the spy stuff way too soon early on.

I also didn't like how they never won. Here's a spy agency getting contracts and with the "world's deadliest agent". It would have been nice to see them win every now and then... Maybe that'll be a future season?

Hasn't been funny since Ron Cadillac.

I wouldn't say devoid of laughs, but definitely not at the same level it previously occupied. Through one episode this year, the trend appears to be getting worse.

Thing is if I wanted to watch men with over inflated egos fail while being cuckholded by powerful women I'd turn on any network show. Archer was funnier when he was a complete dick and it all worked for him. The show got less funny, the less successful he got.

I was wondering why my DVR didn't record any episodes of this last season and then I realized that when I downgraded my DirecTV package to get rid of all the ESPN and sports channels I also lost FXX.

Well fuck Archer, then, if FX wants to pull that shit.

Anyway, you missed nothing. Archer was pretty bad this season. It was all in noir style and in Archer's head. (He survived the gunshots and drowning, but is in a coma.)

I will cut them slack for the season though because the whole thing revolved around Woodhouse's death. Maybe humor was hard for them to get to after that?

You downgraded your DirecTV package and it's FX or FXX's fault you no longer get Archer?

I know you know how things work, but this is a pet peeve of mine lately. LOTS of people in my life and on FB who open their fucking ignorant yaps to talk about how evil the local cable company is because of their prices, and how it "should work", and everyone should switch to DirecTV or illegal devices or yada yada yada.

People have no idea what they're talking about. They don't get why channels get bundled, how the cable companies are middle men for these networks, and what the future holds for them when they "cut the cord" enough that all the cable companies wash their hands of it. I mean, it's happening right now. CBS has an online channel for $15 a month. Imagine getting a dozen channels for the same price you paid for hundreds.

People should be demanding the CBSs of the world go fuck themselves and telling most of these fringe channels that nobody watches them, so stop asking for ridiculous licensing fees from the cable companies, then running crawls blaming the cable company when they balk at paying it because they'll have to raise their customers' prices.

And all this insanity is built on a bullshit ratings model that has NEVER accurately worked.
