ArcheAge - Formerly: "So I've been playing..."
just spent 30 gp upgrading 6 bows from Apprentice to Craftman. Zero went blue. Can't sell them, so I used an evenstone on them and got one Sunlight Archeum Dust back out of the 7 it takes to craft them.
I just have no words for how terrible this system is designed.
Last night was fun though. We went pirating reds. Had battles all over the seas and ended the night stealing a fishing boat with three trade packs on it.
Got on this morning to check trees. Someone had eliminated all the pines on the mountains, so no more watching them. I had no TS trees and replanted one of my farms. I also went to Cinderstone which was in tension level 1 and while chopping down a cork tree a green named Trailblazer Zanarkynd from the House of Elrond attacks me. Being that I never saw him and I was cutting down a tree he got an easy kill. I respawned near the base and started heading back that way when he comes running up. I typed in local chat "Coward" and "What was that about" when he decided to attack me...right in front of the guards. Ha! So he died rather quickly. I only mention this because while death is basically meaningless, I know Scooty hangs out with the House of Elrond.
I decided to do some exploring early on and found another spot for an "illegal" (they're not illegal, but that name has stuck) farm. I figure I have a 20% chance of getting the wood, but I'm more concerned with getting a TS tree. Hopefully, I've increased my odds with this location.
Seriously contemplating creating a red because I think the competition for resources over there is MUCH lower. There has never been a restriction on their characters. Plus, they seem to be far more organized. I have a feeling it's easier to get rich over there. Not saying I'm going to play this character as my main, but I might be able to fund all my characters and play spy.
Finally, I've decided Hasla needs to be more of a priority. I'm tired of shooting reds with my rapid fire and seeing a bunch of 1s. We need better armor and weapons. The weapons come from killing those monsters and getting tokens. The armor comes from quests between Hasla and the blocked in territory on our side of the map...that can only be accessed from their side...WTF? Also, Stranger mentioned some other source of armor.
Edit: And do they have to make lower level monsters not drop anything? That just adds to the grind when you can't farm mobs quickly.

I've got room for grapes on two of my farms. I believe both are set for guild.
Does anyone want my Aquafarm? If not, I'm pulling it up tomorrow. Cake would Jemm want it?
14 hours into my experiment with this hidden farm and nobody has fucked with it yet. Still, my short time in the game has quenched my optimism. I figure I'll wake up tomorrow to find all my trees uprooted or one missing...

People bash the shit out of Blank, but they won the Halcyona war last night.
Here's a question: Why can everyone else push my character around in game, but when I move into them, it's like they're the immovable object? This is a constant headache. Whether I'm on foot or mount if I run into someone, they inevitably get priority and shove my character to the side. It really pisses me off when I'm at the auctioneer or warehouse manager and my guy gets shoved so far it closes my window. Is there a setting I'm missing like "Don't let your guy get shoved."

Who bashes blank?
They get blasted in the faction chat.
Also, Rebirth is the old Vindictive.
Creative name...
I've heard many former Vindictive went Blank.
Still, Blank did something nobody else has done. They organized a red ass kicking in Halcyona.
BTW, auction bots still rule the roost. After hundreds of attempts, I'm still 0 fer in bids. Probably about 20 or so using the stopwatch method too.

What do they say? I'm just curious. Scooty's guild used to consider them allies. They would do runs together and stuff. Now Blank is ignoring other guilds. I think they think they are big enough now that they don't need anyone else. There were some people saying that they don't even help their own weaker members. But over all, it does seem like they don't care about their own faction any more.
As far as the win in Halcyona, they do have numbers, that's for sure.

I'm doing flower bundles now when planting. They give you worms when you pick them. They take 4 times longer to grow though.
Very close to the same harvest amount (upper 20's)
No special items (No hay when growing barley)
You get worms. 5-8 per bunch
Growth times are 4 times longer (with the few that I've done)
Slightly smaller foot print (about the same size as an Aspen as apposed to 10 individual items)
Only 20 vocation badges per unit to make them, but cost 10 labor. Not sure if that goes into a proficiency.
I like them. I plant them where they fit and still do lots of singles to fill in empty spaces so I still get faster returns and special items.

Also, I'm just over 100 GS for the trade ship. Have all the trade pack materials to earn the GS, but will need help with wood (just gave all of mine to Scooty for his Galleon). So any wood you have laying around, set some aside for me please. Also, we do almost nightly runs to get the GS. Your participation to help carry trade packs, or protect them will be appreciated. After the run, we normally hunt reds and turn captured packs in on our side for resources. Sea battles are getting more and more interesting.
Scooty's guild now has 3 galleons. They just don't have enough people to fully man them. If you come, bring your cannon balls.

Fine, but after you get your ship all the lumber needs to start heading my way for bows/carpentry. Ditto for Sunlight everything.Cakedaddy wrote:Also, I'm just over 100 GS for the trade ship. My gold is plummeting and crafting this stuff isn't easy.
I will be there for the run, just let me know when so I can plan ahead. 9 or later is usually best for me. I have cannonballs from last time.
BTW, my secret spot was found at the last moments by "ajacks". He uprooted a few of my trees and left one in their place. I was still able to harvest most of them and properly locate the area. (It was so well hidden, I had trouble finding it a second time.) I've moved to a new spot, but I don't remember if I planted 10 or 12 trees. If 10, then nobody has found it yet. If 12, then someone uprooted 2 of my trees.
Still, these spots are in really low traffic areas and nobody else has been planting around here. It's a pain in the ass to get to, so odds of folks returning are lower. If I continue to harvest the majority of my trees, I'll continue. Just wish I'd hit the TS lottery again.
On that note, there are approximately 96,000 pines planted near my farms. None have been TS.

ill contribute what lumber I've got, but they are mostly just logs right now. I haven't been planting but four pines at a time because they take up to much space. I believe I got a few sunlight's you can have Leisher, not sure how much though, haven't looked at those in a while. I'll take whatever Moonlight Archeum's that anyone has.

WORLD CHAMPIONS!!
Processing logs to lumber is carpentry, right?
However, I'm only 25% of the way because the trade ship is 400, not 300 GS. Good to know. Good news is, it requires far fewer materials at 3, 2, 2 instead of 5, 5, 5 like the galleon. 3 lumber packs won't be hard to reach while I'm getting 300 more freaking GS.
