Date for new cap, level 60. Level cap comes for free for all season pass holders.
And more.
There will also be a new mode added onto Borderlands 2 called “Ultimate Vault Hunter’s Mode”. It will be available for free for all players. To access the mode, you’ll have to beat “True Vault Hunter Mode” and be at least level 50. A new weapon tier will also be added to the game. The new weapon tier, called Pearlescent, should be familiar to those of you who’ve played the original Borderlands. It is set to be the rarest loot in Borderlands 2.
...
Gearbox is also looking to bring a new, playable character to Borderlands 2. The character, Krieg, is a new, psycho Vault Hunter that will bring a new level of bloodiness to the game.
New character is NOT included in season pass. Think everyone will have to burn $5 for it.

Seriously, I buy the damned DLC and the character is not included?

This is starting to get a bit much, even for me, if they release a second season of "new character + new DLC." I honestly don't give a fuck if they charge $100 for the ultra-mega-you-get-everything edition up front, as long as it's ironclad "I get all the new shit."

Tweet Randy Pitchford your complaint.
Seriously.

Hmm, or perhaps some sort of tied bullshit based on the following premise: if you purchase DLC X in the past within a certain timeframe after release within a certain percentage of full retail price, you're given an option to buy the future DLC Y with a bit of a discount relative to how soon you bought X and\or what percentage of retail you paid.
Encourage early buying of X right now for a better shot at getting more folk to buy Y later. You're selling more X at full price and pissing off fewer people when they learn you're releasing Y and they'll have to buy more shit, thus increasing Y's profitability.

Personally, I'm ok with everything they've done. The releases so far that were outside of the DLC were all pre-purchase exclusives. No problem there.
Asking $5 for a new character class, something that has never been promised for free, no problem.
4 DLCs for $20? Great.
Everything else has been free.
If they want to keep pushing out small things for free, great.
However, it's time to get the majority of the team working on BL3.

So, they are releasing new, for a cost, DLC before they've released all the DLC that's been paid for?
In other words, the Season Pass isn't fully released, but they are releasing new DLC that I have to pay for?
Or did I miss that all DLC that's been bought and paid for has been released?

The very next DLC looks to be the last in the first season, they're calling it. Season pass holders also get the level 60 cap. The next DLC will also intro a new character for those willing for fork out.
They've also been speculating about a second season of DLC for a bit now.
EDIT: New character, wtf?
From the teaser trailer, the new character appears to be built for melee attacks in brutal close-quarters combat.
Good thing I spent all that time getting my melee Zer0 to 50.

The more I think about it, the more this is pissing me off more than anything. The cash you'll suck out of the BL2 gaming population with one more season of DLC doesn't seem to compare to implementing that same quality content in the next gen game, because fucking seriously ... BL2 already has as much or more DLC than BL1. It doesn't need a secondary melee character. Gaige is already a variation on Axton (pretty much because of the pet thing).
Jumpstarting BL3 dev with good ideas seems like a much better idea that trying to boost the BL2 endgame by tiny increments and having a played-out feel to the sequel.

Unnamed 4th DLC pack
With the release of the Psycho Pack, Gearbox teased the release of the fourth DLC pack for Borderlands 2 with a video showing Tiny Tina and three of the four original Vault Hunters from Borderlands play a tabletop game called "Bunkers and Badasses", similar to Dungeons & Dragons. Gearbox also stated that the DLC pack would be the "biggest yet" and be released by late June.
Any word on taking a run at some Seraphs, Leish?

They lost me when the political correctness police hit Tina for "talking too black," or whatever it was.

1. I hated what they did regarding Tina.
2. How can they bend for that little public pressure, and then shamelessly release that Aliens game?
And yeah, but I've got to start getting my characters leveled. Done with Saint's Row now.

Wait, what did Gearbox actually do? I heard someone bitching about her. Did they cave?

I know they said they would change how they dealt with her in the future, meaning we probably won't see her back or she'd be completely retooled.

That code is a fiver.
Also got the ultimate VH pack downloaded due to the season pass or premiere club or something. I might buy all the skins if they packaged them for $5, but for $1, I ain't that vain.
Am glad I stopped until the cap got upped, so I can now continue to gain XP while progressing towards missions that give me fucking level-appropriate guns.

Don't know if this is coincidence or not, but just played post-update for the first time. And for the first time ever, got my vehicle stuck in a stationary object.
