HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
With just over six minutes to go in the game, Minnesota had cut Middle Tennessee's lead to four, but that late technical foul on Pitino was the final blow to any hopes of a comeback.
Suck it, you bastards.

I picked Northwestern and Mid Tenn St.
However, I also thought Maryland would win. WTF happened to them? They were awesome when the year began.

Maryland lost it's starting center mid-February. I don't know how good he was, but Maryland lost a lot of games after that.

So... how over-rated was the ACC?

You guys had an unbelievably bad weekend. My final was Duke vs UNC, so...
Although, I'll admit I LOVED watching Syracuse get beat at home in game 1 of the NIT. All that crying Boeheim did about not getting into the NCAA and his team lays a fucking egg. I hate that guy.
I'm a bit surprised by the Big Ten, but not overly surprised. While I had Michigan and Purdue advancing, I didn't have Wisconsin advancing. I did think MSU would beat Kansas, but when their center got in foul trouble it was over.

I never pick UNC to win, cuz frankly, if they win, that's all I need. The $ is consolation if they lose. I picked Duke vs Kentucky

It was actually game 2, they won their first against UNC-G

I didn't think MSU would beat Kansas, I've watched too many of their games this year
I didn't have Michigan. I've been tuned out of the Big 10 since MSU was having such a bad year.

As you're seeing, the Big Ten isn't just MSU, just like I'm sure you'd point out the ACC isn't just Duke/UNC.
Don't feel bad, I was telling my dad how bad the Big Ten was this year and he told me they're actually really good. I didn't really believe him, but since he's a college official...

To be fair, Michigan lost to Virginia Tech, South Carolina, and was blown out by UCLA during the regular season.
Purdue had chances against Nova and Louisville, and lost both.
Wisconsin lost to Creighton and UNC (significantly). Their best win was Syracuse, who made the NIT.
The Big Ten was pretty fairly ranked based on cross-conference rankings, they're either 1) peaking at the right time having improved significantly, or 2) getting lucky.

It all depends. Usually teams play their out of conference schedule early in the year. That means lineups might not be set and roles determined. Ask MSU who has a history of shitting the bed early and then dominating late under Izzo.
Michigan and Wisconsin are both teams that started off slow, and then just started clicking. Michigan lost to OSU for fuck's sake. AT HOME. We could grab 5 DTMANers and go play to within 10 of OSU.
To me, the difference is coaching. These are teams that don't just have talent, but coaches who have tinkered with them all year to get to the right lineups and are now using them.
Watching Wisconsin win is maddening to me because of Nigel Hayes. He's from Toledo and OSU didn't even recruit him. Meanwhile, they did recruit Mark Loving who's a fucking bust. Lots of talk in Columbus about Thad Matta needing to hang it up, but he's confirmed to be returning next season. I'm praying he calls it a day after that and we bring in Miller from Dayton.

I could be wrong (duh), but I'm guessing Archie Miller isn't anyone's answer at head coach. Maybe he'll be better with major program resources behind him, but I don't think he's an Izzo, Coach K, Roy, etc.
Agree, if Matta cannot turn it around next year, time for goodbye.

WVa chokes under pressure.
Purdue had a solid early lead, and it wilted away in seconds.
Bah.

Bah.
And Purdue gets demolished like a 16-seed, by 32.
