Lifting again. My wife started going to a personal trainer 2 weeks ago, as her motivation for weight lifting is almost-zero... or negative.
I'm lifting on my own, but said I'd join her at the trainer once a week when the kids are back in school. Only doing upper body at the moment.

They say deadlifts are a pretty comprehensive thing, for lifting. Works errything.

My wife does them.
I have a bad knee :\

Still lifting. Wife is actually starting to like it (4 weeks in)

Limited lifting still ongoing. I developed tendinitis in my left arm from rock climbing. I’ve been using this weird ball exercise that works my forearms. Was able to climb 6 V0s without forearm pain, so maybe it’s helping.

Started going to my wife's trainer today. He had some good ideas to get around some of my injuries, so we'll see.

My wife hates weight lifting so I got her a personal trainer about 2 months ago.
Yesterday I went with her. Squats are too much for my knee, but I did deadlifts and they went alright.
Super sore today, though.

Last time, after the workout, I was pumped up and full of energy.
Today I just wanted a nap.

Years ago, a homegym called Tonal came out. I followed it, but didn't buy it. A few months ago, they came out with their 2nd version. I tried it out in Los Angeles a couple of months ago when I was visiting, and purchased after trying it out. Got it installed yesterday, and have done 2 workouts so far.
I like it. I'm using a beginner program right now, but it's easy to switch between exercises, the weight feels good, and I like the automatic tracking. I don't love the $60/month fee, but, whatever. I'll just cancel one of my gym memberships to make it even.

Yesterday was OK, but today I am so sore. Today is a day off, then back on tomorrow + Friday.
Also, I am so very weak.

1.5 weeks in, I like it. The guided programs are good for a recent noob like myself. The workout I chose is going well, not aggravating my tendon issues much. Also, my mood, definitely better than before lifting.

It has a "strength score." Mine is very low. Which is expected given how long it's been since I've lifted, and my tendon issues (rotator cuff + golfer's elbow + hip currently). But I was mildly offended by just how low it was. Turns out they do 3 sub-scores: Legs, upper, and core. My core score was like 10% of my legs score, which seemed odd. So I did 2 core focused workouts, and it increased my score 750% for core, lol.

One downside of the Tonal is that it loves to remind me how weak I am. Lol. I started at the 2nd percentile for men, now up to 14th percentile. Admittedly, I've got golfer's elbow, rotator cuff tendonitis, am recovering from my hip surgery still, and have a tendency to develop bicep tendonitis if I go too hard. I moved from a beginner program to intermediate, and it was a little too much. My hammies have been sore since Thursday's workout.
So, I haven't quite given 100%, except on certain exercises (ab crunch, lat pulldown).
Btw, being at 14% for men, makes me 72nd percentile for women. Maybe I should be trans?
