Troy has it right. The Kingdom owes >10 million (iirc) to another family, and a few million to the Lannisters, or something on that relative order.

So since they've been saying that Lannisters always repay their debts, there has to be some kind of comeuppance eventually with how this show works.

Attention peeps who watch this show:

Leisher received season 1 for xmas. He should watch it with his wife, right? Because that's what I told him.

Gordon is absolutely right. I'm sure the experience would be much better in the company of a woman that you've sworn to love, honor, and cherish.

Started reading the first book so I could get through the series and minimize the spoilers to which I get exposed.

Half way through the book, and they follow the first season of the show almost exactly. You would think it was written specifically for TV, though I would bet money it wasn't on the author's mind.

It's one of the best adaptions I've seen as far as faithfulness. Oh, there's a whole lot of detail in the books that ends up minimized on the screen and some key characters are dropped and their actions given to others, but the essence is there and the plot is true.

1. New season starts this Sunday. HBO is giving a free weekend on DirecTV.

2. Sansa, in the book, is even more of a stupid, self-centered bitch than they showed her to be on TV. My desire to see her killed or redeemed is about 50/50. I was told this (NSFW) was her, but I am not certain.

Could be that Martin just writes good TV? He was doing it in the late 80s for Twighlight Zone and Whatever this was. He's also pretty involved with production and drops book hints all the goddamn time.

Like Sansa saying she loved lemon cakes last season. I swear lemon cakes are in half the book food scenes.

We get to see all the good stuff that happens in the second half book 3. So excite!

And apparently they will be marathoning the entire season this weekend... twice. This is a chance to set your DVRs if you don't have them yet.

Here's something I meant to ask before and never got around to it:

Who is the dude who took Theon's "favorite toy?" Am I supposed to know him? If not, don't spoiler it.

Before the dude shot the raping solider in the head with the bow again, the soldier called the dude a Bastard.

No idea if you are supposed to know that or not.

I don't think so, no. The books didn't keep it a mystery, but the shows seems to be doing so for some reason.

Doesn't "Flayed Man" guy say it's his bastard?

You should throw up a pword protected torrent host and let us grab the shows you have already watched and vetted. That keeps the MPAA on your back instead of ours.
