Employers are firing GenZers rapidly saying they are not prepared for the workplace.

Parents are coddling them.

Colleges aren't preparing them despite costing more than ever and everyone insisting you "need" that college degree to work in today's business world.

And social media has them all filled with expectations not even close to reality.

Shocking. Who could have seen this all coming?

My kid is doing well. I raised him GenX2. He's traveling the world and doing well.in college and even his crypto took off. I'm tempted to suggest he switch to the business college so he can feast upon his zoomer peers, out in the world.

My kid is finishing up Sophomore year, still doing well. He got himself a job stocking vending machines so he could have some guilt-free spending money... he doesn't like dipping into the settlement money, that's for school.

He's looking at another summer semester in Korea, this year, the way he did last year.

It bothered him how much it cost. Miami said he had to book through their official "Study Abroad" program, and he vacillated a long time before pulling that trigger. When he got there and spoke to other foreign students, they were like, "What? We just booked it ourselves and didn't pay half that much."

So when he stated thinking about doing it again this year, he started figuring out how to do it himself. Miami was giving him pushback, saying it was too hard for him to deal with a college in Asia. My kid said "whatever, just count the credits." So now he is locking the final enrollment and schedule details down, renting himself an apartment in Seoul for housing, and even with the cost of the airline it's still the same price as if he'd done a summer semester at Miami, or even a couple summer classes at a community college here in Toledo and he could commute from home.

If any of y'all think you're going to take me in this year's "Achievements in Parenting" awards, good luck.

I think we all know that if I was a president I'd be Kennedy.

I really hope this is fake, because the parents just spent 10s of thousands for their kid to get openly mocked.

FYI, I noticed that the girl closest to the camera that failed had a big smile, so probably fake?

I'll bet they do. I'll bet they have a lot of assumptions about life. Their real education is about to begin.

Agreed. Corporate America and the MSM bear some blame as well for pushing "everyone needs a degree".

Harvard fires professor for manipulating data in studies on dishonesty.

She's white, so that probably made it a lot easier, but I'm still impressed they actually held someone accountable.

The paper’s three studies allegedly show that people are less likely to act dishonestly when they sign an honesty pledge at the top of a form rather than at the bottom of a form.
I remember reading about this study. Wow.

Also, it's kinda cool to read their investigation into the Excel data: https://datacolada.org/109

The average IQ being 98-100 doesn't equate to "everyone should go to college".

All I heard was "I'm stupid and have no concept of how the world works".

Maybe don't pay the minimum payment? Maybe read before you sign something? Maybe get an education that pays you enough to pay the loans back? They need "Clue 101" in school so that maybe they can get one.

This is interesting. I was surprised to see anything medical on there. I wonder how many majors will get wiped out by AI?

This is just funny. I worked with a guy back in the 90s who had his masters in ancient Greek history. That was my first real job. Entry level. I didn't have a degree. He got paid as much as me. I asked him what one does with such a degree and he said, "Teach." He told me he regretted it.

Being that it's just "assisting", I'm not surprised. Probably demanding, but low pay.
