Yeah, I stopped playing with my L50 cuz you don't even gain XP. Without XP, only thing I'd want to do is take on the invincible characters, and cant do that alone.

If anyone wants insane hard ... there's BL1 DLC called Moxxi's Underdome. Included are three huge arena matches.
The gameplay consists of rounds and waves. Each round consists of five waves ending with a Boss wave. Every round brings an increased difficulty level. As the round number increases, the number of gameplay-altering rules increases, adding variables such as different gravity levels and modified enemy regeneration, accuracy, damage, etc. If a character is incapacitated and fails to achieve a second wind they will respawn in the Penalty Box on top of Moxxi's tower and the round will be reset. If the player is downed in a multiplayer game, they will respawn in the Penalty Box (from which they can still play an active role by sniping enemies) for the remainder of the wave.

My buddy and myself got through two of three. Never beat this place. There's about zero cover and twenty rounds (5x20 = 100 waves). The handicaps are what really make it evil.

Anyone ever beat these?

I kinda want a "True Death" mode. You can second wind all you want, but once you die, game over.

Then you get pissed at your team for not saving you.

Last night I finished a fight really hurt, and opened a chest hoping to find some health.

A fucking badass midget looter jumped out of it. Turret was on cooldown. Big fight happened. I almost had it dead, when it killed me. Then it jumped behind cover so I couldn't catch it and get second wind.

I was cussing at the computer as it is,... if that had been permadeath, well.... obviously I would be done with the game.

Nothing stops you from implementing such harshness on your own. Nethack is the only thing that's ever been remotely successful that uses perma-death. I suppose Diablo III is in there as well, but Nethack forces you. There's too much shit that can go wrong, like a boss fight when half your team drops Steam connection. Thrash.

Was solo'ing Captain Flynt with Maya today, I was dying, Flynt was point blank in my sights, he had the tiniest of tiny slivers of life left ... click. FUCKING RELOAD!!! GODMOTHERFUCKINGDAMNIT!!!!!! I would have curb-stomped a kitten at that point.

Attempting to get all my lower level characters to Sanctuary has led me to play the game in parallel 4x times recently. Almost done with it, but it's interesting how the character choice affects playstyle. I snipe the fuck out of everything, regardless.

Sal: 'Zerk as long as possible, as much ammo as possible. Murder, death, kill, up close and personnel.

Maya: Elemental all the way. She can freeze one opponent at time (with a short cooldown) and use elemental sniper/pistol/smg to do ungodly amounts of damage.

Axton & Gaige: Buff bot, shorten cooldown as much as possible. Deploy bot, stay alive until cooldown, repeat.

Started the Captain Scarlett DLC last night. Died 3 times without taking out the first boss in TVH mode. Granted, at least one was my fault for trying to bounce my grenade off a wall and forgetting I had stickies. Hell of a different feel from 4-man co-op.

Level 35 in a 50 campaign? I'd get lit. Flipping it around makes things a cakewalk.

Anyone manage to snag the grenade mod mentioned?

Next time your 50's on and I got time, I'll jump in. Zer0 needs leveling anyhow, and respec. A melee-based Zer0 is not a good choice for solo play, I'm thinking.
