You know, it was ridiculous enough that 6-6 teams made bowls... but 5 and 7? (Now, 5-8 because they lost)

"There is absolutely no ability for us (teams in the Group of 5) to be in that national title conversation," Frazier said. "That's just reality. Anyone that says we can: That's a flat-out lie."
Houston could have done it this year, if they had won all their games. It's absolutely possible. You just have to schedule GOOD teams from the power conferences.

Great finish to Michigan-FSU, if only all the bowl games could be that good.

Although, shows how over-rated the Big Ten was :P

Everybody gets a bowl game!
A total of 41 team-competitive postseason games will be played, including the national championship game. To fill the 80 available bowl slots, a record 20 teams (25% of all participants) with non-winning seasons participated in bowl games—17 had a .500 (6-6) season, and three sub-.500 (one 6-7 and two 5-7) teams were required. For example, none of the six teams that played in bowls on December 26 had a winning record. This is the seventh time in the past nine years that teams with losing records have participated in bowl games.

I was telling my dad it shows how distracted Harbaugh has been.

And Julius Peppers is a joke. He shouldn't have been named Big Ten defensive player of the year, let alone be at the Heisman ceremony.

There were concerns, obviously. I didn't think we could win it all and wasn't sure about winning this game, but I didn't see that offensive dud. The defense played great, but can only be on the field for so long before they get tired.

Give us Tom Herman back and it's a completely different game. Most importantly, JT Barrett is a completely different quarterback. He looked like hot garbage all night. Although, I'll give him a slight bit of slack because losing Jordan was a huge blow to our offensive line. He's the best player in that group.

The offense has completely regressed from the beginning of the year. Remember me bitching about Ed Wernier(sp?) a few years before Meyer arrived? He was the offensive coordinator in the last Tressell years and his offenses were boring, predictable, made no sense, didn't take advantage of strengths, didn't hide weaknesses, and he couldn't develop QBs. The Columbus media wrote articles almost daily about him needing to be fired.

Guess who replaced Herman? Yeah...

When you have opposing players dissing your QB prior to the game, that should tip you off that the defense will be trying to force you to throw by loading the box. So what is Ed's game plan? To run and to do so without using his starting fucking RB. Ugh.

The minute we didn't score on that first turnover everyone I was with and all the folks texting declared the game over.

I've got to think (hope?) Meyer will make a change at O coordinator, and I'm already seeing articles suggesting that's what needs to happen.

Still, the biggest loser tonight was ESPN. This is the outcome they didn't want. Alabama vs Clemson got them shit ratings last time and it will again this time.

In other news, Steve Sarkisian is the latest coach to eat a booger on live TV.

After that first interception, I was about to give up on Clemson. Watson's thrown so many the past year, and it felt like that'd be his doom against OSU. But Clemson's D absolutely stepped up, though apparently against an injured O-Line.

Ha! The Big Ten is fine. As someone...either Cowherd or Simmons or somebody said last week, the Big Ten is the best conference in the national. The eye test and the numbers back that up. Their record in the bowls won't mean shit, but will to fans who just want to flap their gums. :D

In related news, rumors out of Columbus have Tim Beck being fired and some guy named Chip Kelly's name is floating around...

No word on Weidniner or however the fuck you spell his ignorant name. Just remembered we need a new defensive coordinator now too.

Saban sends Kiffin packing with one game to go.

Whatevs. They just beat up on each other, and were over-ranked from the beginning, perpetuating the perception that they are in any way relevant. I think we're down to Power Four.

NDSU would beat every team in both Carolinas right now, except Clemson, and let's be honest, maybe even Clemson if they're not focused.

Also, we have a rule banning scheduling of Div II schools, so does the Pac 12. I don't believe the ACC has the same rule. Must love their cupcakes. Of course, the ACC would never establish a rule unless big brother SEC does it first, would they?
I think we're down to Power Four.
Power Four? Really? Your argument wouldn't have been such an obvious troll if you had said Power Three.
They just beat up on each other, and were over-ranked from the beginning, perpetuating the perception that they are in any way relevant.
By the way, speaking of relevant, OSU has won 2 national titles in the past 20 years and in the championship game for two more, not counting this year's playoffs. I must have missed NC's last title shot? Has that ever happened? (No, it hasn't.)

In fact, the Big Ten has over twice as many football national titles as the ACC.

Alright, I'm done responding to you troll. Next post gets something from Duke sent to your home and don't think I'm above driving to your house on my next trip down there and putting a Duke bumper sticker on your car.

(Ok, I wouldn't really do that last one. I'm too lazy and I don't believe in messing with people's cars. I'd tape it on there though!)
