Additionally, no one has a $50 million marketing budget to get JUST that job. TV and radio buys are obvious, the insidious shit is the millions spent on social media, people pretending to be "just folks with a point of view." They spread the message they're paid to spread. The ones with high likes, and reposts, because they can turn a phrase, get paid more. And someone not paying attention believes it, and repeats it. And ultimately, 95% of everything that reaches your eyeballs is the result of someone selling something, even if just a candidate.
And sometimes people aren't even paid to do it, they think they're serving some higher goal because they have a deeper insight to shit, and feel the universe wants them to make other people better. I used to be like this, and maybe I'm doing that with this post. But these people, when they're at it for a little while and realize they aren't swaying anyone, then get nasty, and start figuratively yelling into peoples' faces how they are fucking morons, who have the opinions they do. Division happen. More eyeballs see more advertising. And it becomes common knowledge that the left is full of pedophiles, and the AP is bold enough to just make a headline, "Trump lies about Kamala being black" or just some shit. And did you hear JD Vance fucks couches? People are selling it, hard, either for money, or just a morality boner.
