Ok cool, we've got both directions covered. Since we're most likely the only ones still reading this chain, I'm not going to worry about spoilers, so...

Spoiler warning just for Gordo though, if you want to play through the other way, not that it seems to make a difference.

*CANCELING TRANSMISSION SPOILERS BEGIN*
Obviously when you cancel you're told to meet the two "unknowns" at the monorail (that's Monorail!), and when you don't cancel Sarge is pleased.

Well, I can't speak for making Sarge happy, but I can say the bad guy is definately not happy about you not calling the fleet. He says he'll call them anyway, and you're going to die, but your soul will be his alive in hell for eternity.
*CANCELING TRANSMISSION SPOILERS END*

I met some new friends today:
1. The little ones were freaky, but easily dispatched. I think you guys hyped them up too much for me as I wasn't really shocked, unless you were discussing something else?
2. Something is lighting fast and can stretch its body. It looked human... What was cool about it, is that you're not expecting a human looking thing to move that fast and have that attack.
3. The giant, fat guys were cool, but really easy.
4. The coolest though, had to be the revenant (sp?).

One thing I noticed, that was incredible if what I saw was real...I was shooting a zombie marine with a shotgun and my bullets were bouncing off of his shotgun instead of striking him as would happen in most games.

Is that real? Did I actually see that?

So the dead babies didn't freak you out?

Nah. I saw them in a screenshot way back and expected them. They should have been introduced in a really freaky way, like seeing them kill and eat someone. That would've been cool.

Its funny, some of the biggest scare moments I've had in the game are non-monster events. Although, I do like it when an unexpected monster shows up when you're doing some backtracking.

Oh. The dead babies were a complete surprise to me, I hadn't seen screenshots.

That first dead baby went right at my face as I turned a corner... and I literally yelled "Sonuvabitch!" real fast, and from the other side of the house the wife yells, "Did you call me?"

Pert near shat myself.

That's hilarious.

I've found myself cursing at the game a lot too. It does get the blood pumping.

By the way, if you guys didn't figure it out yet (and I'm sure you have), use your plasma rifles on the revenants.

I tried using the chainsaw on the spiders and that didn't work too well. I went back to the pistol. I like the visual of overwhelming numbers charging me and my pistol.

BFG is really sweet... be sure to save and hold the firing trigger for 10 seconds and see what happens...

Use all your weapons while you can in the Delta Labs, dont conserve ammo (lots of plasma ammo)

The Devil Doesnt like your flashlight... so he takes it away from you in Hell

Oh and you start to meet more and more things tha you can't Shotgun Charge... so dont try it

You must be busting ass to fly through these levels. Be careful on the spoilers though, the flashlight thing could be considered a spoiler. That's a "Oh fuck me" moment I'm sure.

I'm currently on Delta Level 2 headed to the main portal.

I assume I'm way behind both of you in the game, but I'll still try to comment without spoilers.

Actually, one thing I really want to discuss and rag Gordo for is a huge spoiler, so I'll wait until I know he's in Delta before commenting.

Another thing is related to that choice we all made earlier. I believe I've found yet another spot where things may have been different for us compared to what Gordo saw. It occurs after you complete the first step of a mission on Delta 1...

And while we're on the subject, Delta 1 has been, by far, the scariest level yet.

Actually, this is the SECOND spot where I think things turn out differently depending on what you picked...but, now that I think about it, maybe the second thing could't be different...

Ok, I'll wait till Gordo tells us where he is before I discuss this in more detail.

I'm down to Delta Level 3.

I do NOT like the new friend I made.

Still, it must be stated again that this game is just designed well. Sometimes I stop and just admire levels.

I died more in hell than anywhere else. To be fair though, most of my deaths were due to getting pushed off a ledge by a flaming head thing. My other deaths were obviously at the hands of death knights. I believe I've only died one other time in the whole rest of the game.

Oh, and the baby things were much creepier in hell. Maybe it was just the setting.

The Guardian was pretty cool, but it took me a minute because I didn't listen to the voices in my head at first.

I've just reached Central Processing.

My new favorite sound: "Use Us".

I also assume I can start mocking Marines now. What kind of pussies are these guys?

This is easily the most heavily armed facility evar. Still, the Marines seem to have found a way to get completely destroyed. One Marine lead me around the base, so that's one that survived the attack. Three members of Bravo made it past the first attack. Campbell seems to be some sort of soldier, but he's more likely a special forces type, not just a Marine. Oh, and I saw a Marine get taken by the devil.

So that's 5 Marines, not including the main character. All 5 of those Marines die. I have no clue yet about Campbell.

Gordo, what's up? They didn't train these guys?

Ok, I'm stuck at the guardian.

I know I'm supposed to take out the guys with the highbeams, to make the guardian vulnerable... but the guardian instantly respawns them. What up with that? How long is it "vulnerable?"

Get out your rockets. They take out the seekers with one shot. If you wait until they're close, they're easier to hit and you can take out at least two with one shot if they're bunched up.

When all seekers have been killed, the guardian has that spawner appear above his back to create new ones. Shoot that spawner, the big blue light, with your rockets. It takes about 10 hits and he dies.

Now recite your two new favorite words: "Use Us".

Oooohh.

I was aiming center mass...

Don't need the rocket launcher for the seekers, I got the BFG and lots of ammo. I stumbled upon a couple hidden BFG's in hell. I had no trouble taking out the seekers, I just never aimed at the spawner beam thing.
