It's a sad story and then it gets darker the more you read.

Moral of the story is being lesbian, liberal, or diverse doesn't make you better than other people. Sounds like these poor kids were living in a shit show.
All signs pointing to intentional.

Wow! Makes you wonder if the lede would have been buried like that if the parents had been traditional man and woman.

I think it got traction because of the famous kid.

Now it's getting traction because it's mass murder. Weird how nobody is screaming about banning the car.

I agree that the story initially went national because the kid was in the famous photo. But I also think all the tidbits about the questionable goings-ons there would have been higher in the story with a traditional family.

Just sad, though.

A California link, San Francisco specific, to end them all.

It’s so bad that it will likely push a conversation on cleaning up the city, even among those who resist the notion. Fucking finally.

The video in this article is not safe for life.

I hope they kill him.

Not even remotely kidding.

I get attacking a person. People piss you off. No problem.

Grabbing a fucking puppy and intentionally harming it like that shows that you have zero regard for life, and as such, are not entitled to one.

City Police in SF have been cracking down pretty hard. Displaced homeless all over the last week. Looked up why...

We'll see how it works out.

Public transit in SF. Don't mind the open, tolerated drug use.

Civic center station is near the the Tenderloin. The tenderloin is the worst part of SF, homeless and drugs everywhere.

Makes sense if they are cracking down on the overland streets they would go underground. That long hallway is seriously one that you have to walk through to get from BART station to city hall, the courthouses, etc.

I too have seen what the guy is describing, admittedly not in the numbers he videod.

Saw a person selling crack right in front of a cop next to city hall. Cop was just like “Hey - take it over a few streets.” That approach seems to be changing.

At some point they should start treating people who break the law like criminals.

Crusading on:

Also on Tuesday, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors declined to endorse a bill by San Francisco’s State Senator Scott Wiener that might remove some of the city’s chronically homeless from the street altogether, but might also infringe on their civil rights.
Booo. I actually met this guy when he was doing a meet and greet outside the BART station. Made sure I voted for him. He was just standing there shaking "techy" hands while a loud transient person and one of his volunteers were arguing about politics behind him(the homeless guy was a big Republican, apparently). Pretty funny at the time, but he was taking things seriously and trying to talk to tax payers + voters from his neighborhood. He's trying at least.

Stop being such a pessimist! Clearly this will encourage people to work harder just like it did in Europe where they tried it... (Psst! They didn't work harder. The people running the program were shocked that it had the opposite effect they were going for. Socialism works until it is exposed to actual humans.)

The Finnish government was keen to see what people would do under such circumstances. The data is expected to be released next year, giving academics a chance to analyze what has come of the experiment.
So we don't really have results from Finland yet.
Although, Finland already had these programs. So a US-Finland comparison is not apples to apples.
Health care is furnished by the state. University education is free. Jobless people draw generous unemployment benefits and have access to some of the most effective training programs on earth.

It's hard to do a US to anything comparison really. I can't think of another country that has anywhere near our population combined with the cultural diversity of the US. One of the things they're starting to see in some of these more successful socialist countries is that as they become more PC and open border, the worse their free systems do. In a more homogeneous country, the citizens are less inclined to take advantage of the system because there is a feeling that everyone is of the same "tribe". As the population diversifies, the minority feel less inclined not to take advantage of what the majority is paying for, and then the majority start to feel like schmucks if they aren't taking advantage of the systems the way the minorities are and then it all starts going to hell rather quickly.
