Just made my first resource run into the forest. Got a pig and a bunch of other stuff. Started running down and I went off a decent drop and thought "Oh shit, how do I get back up there?" No easy path back up from the forest! Have to run around the back of the mountain. Then it's a long steep climb back up.

Have the first floor done. First floor has no security. Not spending much time down there yet. Started second floor. Have one room with 4 metal doors. Most secure spot we have so far. Second floor will be a catacomb of metal doors with one stair way in the most anti C4 strategic spot. Third, fourth, etc floors will be fewer and fewer doors. We should be able to build one stairwell tower to the top of a very tall rock pillar. There are a couple of spots outside of the building that need to be anti stair secured. But I think it's only 2 spots. Our shack is hidden way down in between some large rock formations. It's high enough up the mountain, and low enough in the rocks that I don't think you can see the light from the fire/furnace from down below.
Good solid start, in my opinion. VERY secluded spot, I think.
Getting to the forest is a quick run down a VERY steep slope. But you can run it without falling/hurting yourself. Getting back up, you have to circle around from the west or from the east side of the mountain. From the west, you can be seen running up the mountain from Big Civ. From the west, there is a really big house in Next Valley that could see you running up the mountain. But even then, finding us will be a chore. Until we build the tower to the top of that pillar. IF we want to do that.
We need wood and metal. Food is running around all over and easy to find. Since we will be killing more animals, start converting the animal fat to fuel and use that for cooking/smelting to conserve wood.

By the way, if you venture up there, it's the only building in the mountains that I've seen. It's basically 2x4 with a couple 1x1 sections sticking out. Lots of wooden doorways with no doors.

Good spot, you have to do a few scrambles to get there, and then it's this big open area with site lines all around. Room for weapon stash houses all over, too.
Whenever I get a chance to play tonight I'll go try to find some bolt actions. Also kick down a few more doors for the wood and metal

Same. I think I found it as well. Was able to climb up from the south.

I think I'll go up North just a bit further and start building something, too. Not too far away and not well hidden, can serve as secondary base.

My first meeting of players on this new server. I was being chased by a wolf and they killed the wolf and gave me a leather vest. Nice folks.

My first two encounters resulted in me dead.
My third we just kinda stopped, looked at the each, and ran away.

I have a furnace in my shack off the road on the north edge of the mountain. But there's a guy running around with a pistol out there at the moment killing on sight.

Yeah we have a secret shack near the base. I just went on an epic resource run somehow didn't manage to get killed. Brought a ton back. Will get the ore going and finish off some doors and leave the rest of the wood there. Will be on later.
