More and more Dems want Cuomo to resign.

Given the covid scandal and more and more women stepping forward accusing him of sexual harassment, I think this is a no brainer stance to take. Any Dem not calling for him to step down are the same as the Rs who still support Trump's claims of victory.

Imho, the sexual harassment claims I've read were weak, but I'm no lawyer/expert. People get offended too easily.

The covid thing... fire him.

In the age of Twitter, substance of accusations means nothing.

Nevada Dems all quit as party there goes full socialist.

Really good interview explaining what happened and what takes place going forward.

Hid some tax increases in the stimulus bill.

Reading how and why, these are really well crafted moves.

Although, the why also reminds me that our government is bloated and some of the rules they've created for themselves are complete horseshit.

One takes away deductions for publicly traded companies that pay top employees more than $1 million.
Great, so now they'll get even more stock options.
They pushed through an amendment to the coronavirus plan exempting the first $10,200 in assistance.
This makes sense.

Being a democrat, I'm sure there's a perfectly rational explanation.

The fact that it was 15k options exercised tells you that this transaction actually happened much earlier. (Although the article conveniently doesn't mention that) He bought call options on MSFT, and then exercised them on that date. The only reason to exercise an option is when it expires. So he just let it exercise on expiration.

The timing is absolutely in his favor, but it still begs the question of what he knew about the deal waiting for Congressional approval. It's not like such a thing just shows up in and a decision is made in a single day.

And that is a left leaning website making the implication.

Even if it's .1%, if he did so based on insider information, we should hold him to the same high bar that we hold Martha Stewart. :D

Pelosi...

I love that Republicans and Democrats united to call her out on her stupidity.

Remember when Democrats were all up in arms over Trump's "hateful rhetoric that led to Jan 6th and people dying"? They just voted that their party is allowed to do such things.

To their credit, some Dems seemed to want to vote against Maxine, but their leadership shot them down. Nice to see party>country taking priority yet again.

Yay Congress!

Rochester, NY mayor, already facing fraud charges, has her home raided because her husband is apparently a drug dealer.

This article doesn't show her statement, but she legit said nothing of the drugs and guns in her home and instead pointing out how this was all politically motivated and the timing of the raid, court dates, etc.

D slams bullshit R bills trying to limit voting rights.

The Rs are passing laws all over the country to make it more difficult to vote.

The Ds want to eliminate the electoral college, end the filibuster, and give immediate citizenship to 14M people here illegally because they believe they will vote for them.

Show me the party that is actually working FOR the people.

You could argue point 1 is FOR the people since the majority of people would be represented instead of the electoral college winner. #2 - Again, the majority instead of letting 1/3rd of the population's representatives hold up legislation. And #3 - I mean, the 14M are people.

You could argue it, but you'd be wrong. But hey, don't come at me, go argue with the founders of this country. Turns out "majority rules" is pretty stupid in a country as large and diverse as this one.
TheCatt wrote: Tue Jun 01, 2021 11:30 am #2 - Again, the majority instead of letting 1/3rd of the population's representatives hold up legislation.
Or to look at it another way, force the majority in power to work on a compromise that works for all people. It's one of those checks and balances that must be crazy frustrating to people who just want to ram through their agenda.

Also, and this is a legit question, did our founders create the government with only two political parties in mind?
TheCatt wrote: Tue Jun 01, 2021 11:30 am And #3 - I mean, the 14M are people.
You wouldn't know it based upon the actions of this or the prior two administrations... (Record number of solo children being detained at the border. Not a single child has been reunited with their family despite Biden's campaign promises. -Both per NBC)

Now this might be shocking, but there are legal and accepted methods of applying for citizenship. You don't have to illegally cross a border. Even if you do, maybe don't work here for 20 years without ever even trying to get citizenship. Maybe don't fly your former country's flag over your establishment?

Is it? The primary issue, imho, is tyranny of the majority, which we resolve through our constitution/laws,etc.
Leisher wrote: Tue Jun 01, 2021 1:15 pm Also, and this is a legit question, did our founders create the government with only two political parties in mind?
They created a system that made 2 parties the ideal way to approach it. I do not know if that was their intent. I think one of their intentions was stability. (bi-cameral, staggered election years, etc).

Alright, tell me that process if you're from Nicaragua.
