I don't see getting to Silver any problem, I'm getting 25-30 points for a win and losing 9-12 on each loss. So even with a 50/50 win rate the system is pushing you up.

Its when those numbers start to even out is when the real grinding starts, and probably when you'd really want to have a team and be in comms.

Obviously not going to make it to Silver this season, but i'll be trying for that in next season. I'm curious how the season reset works. Does everybody go back to zero points and start over, or does it drop you a few ranks and you start over from there?

OK, true. But, I'd rather do it more quickly

I'm finding arenas somewhat boring. As Catt says, completely random, very rarely evenly matched. Sure you can advance due to losing fewer points than you earn. But there's a LOT of grinding, and for what? The books are nice, but I think the books you get from buying those faction chests are better. I have a few million fame points (in books) in the bank right now from those chests. I don't think I've broken a million yet in all the arena books I've used. Unless the end of season rewards are stellar, I'm pretty blah on arenas.

Crystal Arena: You can get 100k fame books in 10 minutes. Or, lose and get 30k. So average 65k, +/-

Faction: You can get 10k points in 30-50 minutes; exchange for 200k of books for a 9k chest?

So, to optimize Crystal, you really need a better/less random team.

Just saw two things in a yellow mist I've never seen before. A BIG monster that was worth 71k fame and 18k silver. The second thing was a walking treasure chest that I had to kill to be able to open. Only had about 5k work of stuff.

I've never seen those either, and done a lot of mists.

Finally won something from Gus - 700k helmet.

Ran into the worst Zerg gankers ever yesterday. They hopped in, barely killed anyone, and then were slaughtered. Then, did it at the next 6-7 outposts we visited as well. Just rinse + repeat, easy knockdowns.

I saw someone doing Zergs in red yesterday, they were basically ratting (which apparently means going in with low gear, barely being useful, and taking loot from dead bodies). Dude got 2M of silver of stuff in about an hour.

Did you guys know you can have a separate player island on Brecilian? I didn't until now. I don't recall seeing an island merchant when i was there, gonna have to go back and check that out.

Given what a hell hole that place is to get out of, makes sense.

once you've been there you can travel there for free. just take off all your gear.

Right, take off all your gear was my problem. This was back when I was carrying multiple sets of gear in case I wanted to change what I was doing (pve, fishing, zerg, etc)

What is there that is worth going there for?

It's kind of like another Carleon. Has a Black Market, another player island, local production bonuses (refining, and crafting capes, bags, potions) and everything else another town offers. Also has direct exits to the mists and Roads of Avalon. Other than that, not much.

How many years does it take to get to T5 of all resources? Ugh. I'm at T5 trees, and T6 fish. T4 all else. Tried working on skinning today. Saw a red come up near me (weird since I'm in Yew Wood), so I ponder the fight, but decide to hop on my mount and look around (I pretty much always keep my mount next to me when gathering).

Turns out I was still faction flagged from the morning, and a huge white army was invading. Good thing I could run.

If I'm gathering on the surface, I stay faction flagged. You don't get much, but you do get points. I got a decent amount in the red area. Killed mobs for about 45 minutes and earned over 2500 points.

When I decided to level up hides, it took about. . . 8 hours or so to hit T5 from T2. To get from 4 to 5, I was in the Mist area. T5 animals were fewer, but when I found them, they always had 5 hides. Unlike bears that always have 1, maybe 2 hides.
