They're being class-action sued over this. "This wasn't the contract when I paid a year in advance."
Where do I sign up?

I saw the news article about it, not yet the "sign up to get your $7" website.

I allowed my prime account to lapse last month, over the video-commercial-shenanigans. I had paid a year in advance.
I was going to consider any deals they wanted to make if I came back..... I haven't seen anything yet.
Jeff Bezos has a shitty, 4th rate space program anyway, and I'm glad I am no longer supporting it.

I don't think they bother with deals.
I have a vague memory that many years ago my wife and I would switch who had Prime to get deals (like 1-3 extra months on 12 months, etc), but then they stopped doing it.

T'would be nice if you could filter amazon to show you no products made in China. Very simple to do, from a programming standpoint.
Three reasons I can think of why not:
1. Bezos doesn't want to lose Chinese money, for doing business with China.
2. Trickery. Produced in China, but the company will simply ship it elsewhere and say it was made there. Or just lie about shipping and say "No, this entire boat just came in from china but my stuff wasn't made there."
3. I had a third one but I forgot.
But mostly #1.

More and more manufacturing jobs are leaving China as they outsource them to nations where it's cheaper to produce goods.
Where have we heard this story before?
So yeah, "Made in China" already might not mean that anymore.
