Gordo, before you do anything, do me a favor and tell your wife that Watchmen is mine. Oh, and can I have your DVD collection if something should happen to you?
Thanks.
P.S. Make sure you're directly under the wasp's nest before you attack.

Waiting for my wingman to show up. He's scared to death.
Wikipedia says a nest of this size usually contains 400-600 hornets.

Goddamnit. This is the sort of shit I'd like to participate in. Not quite enough to buy a plane ticket or make an impromptu roadtrip, though. Mass slaughter is fun, especially of things that annoy you.

I'd drive two hours to be a part of said carnage. I've been itching to do another documented attack on nature.
And when you die Gordon, I want those missing KISS albums.

Operation status unknown. The design of my weapon platform was faulty, and I was unable to get the nozzle of the fogger directly under the access tunnel... I was about 2 inches off. We'll see if 2 cans in an enclosed space that technically is too small for one can will have the desired effect.
Situation: Two foggers cans lit and inserted into area very near enemy location.
Mission: To eradicate enemy presence in this area.
Execution: Attack enemy on multiple fronts. Begin with chemical attack on their home, after nightfall. Will beat the hive with a stick tomorrow if no signs of external enemy movement. If needed press attack with bait outside their main egress, followed by massive carpet foaming of enemy base. Final solution will entail high pressure penetration of enemy base with further chemical attack.
Administration and Logistics: Commander GORDON oversaw pre-attack planning and acquisition of materiel needed.
Command and Control: I led the initial attack with my wingman present and responsible for the videocamera, with foam at hand to deal with enemy counter attack. Thirteen minutes of footage achieved from start to completion of mission.
Casualties: Zero stings to friendly personnel. Enemy status unknown.

Unk was not brave enough.
There was another. Leisher met him the other day.
You'll see him in the video. Putting it on the PC now. There is some editing of slow spots that needs to be done.

Early observation: Hornet traffic in and out of the nest has decerased by 99%. Early hypothesis is that the single hornet I did see going in spent the night outside of the nest. Yesterday, pre-chem attack, 3-5 hornets could be seen exiting and entering the nest at all times, at a rapid pace.

Morning traffic is not a true indicator, as wasps are late risers.
A scouting report at 12:00 would be more accurate.
I await video.
I think that spraying a can of wasp poison up into the nest would do well to nuke the rest of the buggards.
Isn't that stuff supposed to be toxic for weeks? So every time they go home they poison themselves.

I just observed the crack in the foundation for a full minute. In that time I saw three hornets leave and one enter. More hornets than I'm happy with.... but I'd still say they hornet population is down well over 90%. Yesterday you could see 7-10 hornets coming and going at any given time, with maybe 2 seconds between when you'd first see them, and them disappearing into the crack.
Going to open the crawl space access this afternoon and see what there is to see. With pics.
I need to recover my chemical weapons platform so I can make a modification and then use the last can of fogger... this time directly up into the bottom of the nest. The irony is that I have to crawl into the space to reach it so I can kill more hornets... but I won't go in there if there's a bunch of hornets.
P'raps foam is next.
Video is also still pending, but hopefully still coming today. I haven't edited video in almost 2 years and I need to relearn how to do it.

I've gotta admit, I'm kind of hoping some are left so we get more stories.

Yeah.... the flawless, well-executed plan makes a far more boring story than a "and then all hell broke loose" plan.
Maybe I'll just crawl in there and jam the fogger up its hole by hand. That would be interesting.

Take a can of the foaming poison, crawl under the nest, and punch a pinhole into the can so it will auto-spray.
Set it underneath the hive.
Do it by torchlight as well.
That's be interesting.

How about just putting epoxy in the hole they use, sealing up the access panel, and wait until they die of starvation?
Admittedly it's not as entertaining for the rest of us.

If he was a real man he'd duct tape an ice pick to his butt and take them out in a fair fight.

Because then they'd swarm and find the same hole into my bedroom that the bastard on the first morning used.
