How long had it been since you'd logged out before the missing sleeper? I'm wondering if the server resets I did yesterday morning may take away any sleepers when it happens.

They will be rare, you probably just got some bad luck there.


Just FYI, I did two runs on Big Civ yesterday and had similar results:
-4 sulfer
-raw chicken breasts
-a campfire
-handmade shells
-Etc.

No guns, blueprints, building parts, C4, research kits, and very little ammo.

Sounds about right?

My mini fort on the edge of the forest is still standing. Just won't be able to play much or at all until weekend evenings.

Hmmmm, that's weird. I just double-checked and all the worthless stuff is weighted as 1 or 2. I'll have to do some testing tonight to see what's going on.

Did another a few hours ago:
-More raw chicken
-Lots of gun powder
-More ammo this time
-2 revolvers
-2 pipe shotguns (Holy shit are they worthless!)
-5 wooden stairs
-More sulfer
-That blood draw kit
-A holo scope

Also, what's the deal with Jer The Fox? I saw the chat history where he was getting booted by the admins for "violations"? Was that legit? I had a run in with him yesterday where he was being a dick in chat. Wondered if that same behavior continued into the night?

I have no idea why he got "booted"

I think the best I found yesterday was revolvers.

Don't look at me, I've not kicked or banned anyone.

Those spawns do seem a bit excessive. I just went through and doubled the weight on the JunkSpawnList for items that were previously on the list in the past. Flares are the highest at 30, good ammos and cloth are at 20, etc etc and chicken breasts and pipe shotguns are still down there at 1. Let me know if that makes a noticeable difference.

I like the idea of anything being looted at some point, but not if it's clogging up all the good stuff in the process.

EDIT: Oh, except I didn't restart yet. That needs to happen before it takes effect, but I can't log into the game from work. Someone here tell everyone a restart is incoming and let me know it's done, and I'll watch for the post then hit restart when I see it.

Can you make it so that the stuff that somebody dies with... if it is not picked up.... half of it ends up on a zombie spawn somewhere?

That'd be neat, but no, that's beyond the ability of the tools at hand I'm afraid.

If anyone wants to see it I'd be happy to post the loot list code here. It's basically just a list of weighted random stuff written in Lua.

I just did the server reboot and while I can't talk to people on the server through the server-side console, I can see chat. Jer the Fox seems to think that the server rebooting is kicking him for some sort of violation. That's probably what he meant before.

There is also a bug in the game that kicks people off with a violation.

Just beat down a wooden door, found a guy asleep inside, and looted his furnace and storage chest, and let him live.

Aren't I nice?

But I AM wondering what loot he might have on him....

Get to leave soon and have a few hours in me tonight! If running marauder over our DTMAN server might ruin the early population I might try a free guns pvp server or something.

We had a little chat the other day about how cool it would be to build walls around Big Civ. All the way around. Have our own private town spawn.

I think that might get in the way of the "build up the population" goal. It's pretty bad newbie fucking.

Now a giant sniper tower nearby for our bolt actions...

Took a vocal inventory of our metal parts and we have:

Cake: Windows, Ramps, Doorway
Gordon: Foundation, Walls, Pillars, Ceiling

Other people may have other stuff, but it looks like we have all the parts we need to get started. As well as a really deep stock of metal in the east.

I figure eventually we'll have to turn on each other if we want some action. But if it comes to that let's plan the date first so we can all change our door codes first, otherwise there would be no challenge.
