The Mercedes is like a bat and the smart car is like a baseball.

Looks like the cage is still solid, though. I'll leave an intact corpse.

Just came from voting. There was a SmartCar in the parking lot with a bumper sticker with, "I AM NOT A LIBERAL" printed on it.

Voting? You still think votes matter? What an antiquated notion. I'd probably not believe the car, either.

Still loving my car. Best car I've ever owned, by far. Still lots of fun to drive almost six years later.
I've been seeing more of them around here in the past few years. I saw two today. Whenever I see another Smart owner we always end up waving and smiling at each other, time and road conditions permitting.
Every Smart car I've seen on the road is driven by some douche who thinks the speed limit a) matters and b) is 5 mph lower than reality.
I am definitely not this douche. I'm the 10 to 15 mph over douche that rides that other douche's bumper and slips into and out of holes in traffic too small for regular cars. This is Houston, after all; bumper-to-bumper at 80mph is the norm.

That's been my experience with Fit drivers. God I hate being behind Fit drivers.

Every Yukon and Outback I see up here fits that description.

The only sure sign of an asshole in this area is if they have Michigan plates. Guaranteed asshole. It's even in our driver's ed books in this area: there's a paragraph in the "road hazards" chapter titled, "Michigan Assholes."

hope to keep my current car for 6 more years. The way I look at it is all this time is $ I can save up for the next one, and get whatever I want. And, if I bought a car, it would just start a countdown towards the time that car had to be replaced.
that was 2009. The car was a 1999 Camry. I sold it in 2017, and bought a 10 year old Highlander. Then bought the Porsche in 2022.

My 2011 F-150 has been paid off forever, and was very well maintained. Engine still purrs like a kitten. I'd keep it forever.
And I learned recently the frame is rusting out.
God dammit.
