So far I find this game annoying.

I was the same way at level 2, playing solo. For some reason it got more fun with more people at higher levels.

For those bomb guys, you need some slow auras and traps or fields to kill them before they get to your barriers. That's where solo starts to get difficult because you need the trap variety of multiple players.

So I could probably switch characters mid game and lay those barriers, eh?

Huh, never tried to switch, not sure if you get to keep your other turrets up when you do. Never occurred to me to try.

You can and they do stay.

I was switching between my Knight to put up turrets, and then my warrior guy to fight the waves.

Problem is, on Insane you get 90 seconds to do your prep.... not enough time for a single character to get it all done, much less switching between 2.

You'd have to build towers to level 2 and traps after that. Upgrade and whatnot with both characters while the waves are coming? But ya. Hard on level 2. I have a low level trap guy.

Holy geez, I just made a new character with that mecha chick. Her traps are like laser tripwires that do constant damage. You stretch them across the entry points, put a laser barrier right after them, and the bad guys just group up against your barrier getting killed. It looks like they are in a meat grinder. I just stand in the middle watching none of my turrets take damage. Killed the troll with 2 level 2 trip wires, and a barrier.

With the mecha chick, she seems to have a secondary weapon slot. i can't figure out how to change the weapon in that slot, nor can I select to use the secondary weapon during combat.

I remember her having two weapons, but I don't recall exactly how it worked. I think maybe it was that one slot could be a gun like the ranger uses, and one could be a staff like the magic guy uses. Switching in battle was a hotkey thing, like maybe tilde.

I can't recall at all how to slot in the second weapon, though. I'll have to fire up the game tonight and give it a look.

I was able to solo the demon lord with the mecha chick... the problem is that all her electro laser traps are all at ground level, and the fucking demon spends 75% of his time flying. Took me about 20 minutes to kill him. The significance of that is the electro traps were able to stop the hordes of other minions swarming toward the nexus for 20 minutes, with zero maintenance.

Surprising. I remember her barriers eventually falling to excessive pounding. And I thought the little kill beams drained their lives away as they killed things.

They may have changed it. Her beams were neat but not very popularly used back when I was playing before, because they were somewhat short lived.

Nope. They are permanent, and the trick is that if you don't put up actual barriers, and place the beams along the path they walk, they just keep on walking and don't stop to pound on them.

The level with the wyverns... 2 or 3.... I actually had to fudge a bit, get my wizard, and put up a few fireball towers just for them. They fly too, and I was going to lost the nexus if my level 10 mecha girl had to kill them by shooting them.

* Can equip Apprentice and Huntress weapons. Two weapons may be held at once (i.e. two apprentice weapons, or two huntress weapons, or one of each).

* Passive Effects (such as heath boosts and tower boost) of both weapons equipped are applied at all times, but not any effect relating to weapons, which are kept seperate.

* Press "X" or click by default to switch between the two.

* Gamepad (namely Xbox 360 controller) users can press the left stick button to switch between weapons.

From here.

How to equip two weapons (from here):

Very strange that you can't give her 2 items from the box if she was never even equipped before...
So... she can only equip two weapons directly from pick-ups? ...but not from the item box? o_0
Yea that's what i can tell also, that's very weird lol

There's probably a way to do it directly, but it sounds like this method works until we figure out the right way to do it.

X. Got it. And no one yet knows how to equip it directly... heh. That's some good documentation right there.

Well, that was from March 2012. Hopefully someone has figured it out since then. :p

So I was playing this game with my kid a bit, and now he plays solo from time to time.

He just played a game in which some random people joined him.... one of them was level 100. If you don't remember, monsters and loot scale up with people of higher levels.

Well, this guy was getting and dropping loot he didn't want... and when my kid picked it up, these items are worth a Billion+ gold (billion with a b) each, or whatever the currency unit is. For perspective, at level 40 it's nice to get an item worth 50k gold. My kid is now frikkin rich in the game.

Also, some of these people have swords and shit that, in game, are like 20 feet long.
