Physically, I agree with you. But, it's hard to hit that sweet spot on a football, whereas a soccer ball is a complete circle. It's all sweet spot.

UNC was down 13-0 to open the game. Then tied it 27-27, now up 72-39. Go Heels.

Yeah, I have to agree that's a bullshit award.
Like when Kaitlyn Jenner won woman of the year.

Or, a lot of people in sports are getting sick way to fast because of the grouping of large numbers of people that I predicted before all of this started but people were like "Ya, but I want to watch football and my kid needs to increase his draft potential and there are protocols in place". And now when people might have legitimate concerns for the health of their players (and all the people exposed to them) are being called pussies for not playing?! I'm not defending just because it's Michigan. This has been hinted at a few times were teams are talking about canceling games that would affect league standings.
I predict that things will continue to get worse with more and more players/staff getting sick and more and more games being canceled (in all sports).

5. The Coveted Big 10th Spot
Quick recap of the week for the B1G: Ohio State had to cancel its game at Illinois, and the Buckeyes are now furiously doing the math to see how they can still win the conference and make it to the College Football Playoff while having played the same number of games as UMass. Northwestern, a 2019 Bottom 10 stalwart, had climbed into the Top 10 before losing to one-win 2020 Bottom 10 stalwart Michigan State. Nebraska, which lobbied hardest to play this fall, fell to 1-4 and had a postgame spat with Iowa about the proper way to clap one's hands. Penn State and Michigan played in the Pillow Fight of the Week. Feel-good story Indiana lost its quarterback for the remainder of the year. Wisconsin and Minnesota also had to cancel. Purdue lost to one-win Rutgers. It was the conference equivalent to the family Thanksgiving dinner that turns into an argument about politics and who bought the cheap paper plates.

Or they should all be bubbling like the NBA and MLB did very successfully? And allow time for games to be postponed like the other conferences.
BTW, every player was given the option to opt out and many did in pro and college. Was that not enough?
Why were airlines allowed to fly during the holidays? Shouldn't we have closed them all to prevent folks from traveling? Why isn't the whole country locking down again with covid rates skyrocketing?
The whole situation sucks, but unless the entire world is shutting down who really gets to chose who works and who doesn't? We've seen that leaving it up to corporations meant that a lot declared themselves to be essentially even though they weren't. With sports at least the players were given the option to play or not play.
ESPN is the Donald Trump of sports reporting.

High school championship in Bama ends in crazy fashion.
Great for the kids who won, but damn those other kids are going to feel that forever.

That a joke or did you see that somewhere? I got curious and searched for his recruit ranking, but found nothing.

He was a state all star at his position, and yet has no ranking whatsoever on 247, which is the most accurate recruiting site.
Tells me he's heading to a junior college if he doesn't go to jail.
