Trump administration denies CA request for emergency financial assistance due to fires.
You've got to get a few paragraphs in before it's discussed what the administration has already approved and how FEMA's director is usually the one recommending against the request.
I really wish we had an honest MSM. I'm curious if this is simply a paperwork thing being overblown ("No to this, but fill it out properly and resubmit.") or is it an attempt to grab more cash by Newsome.

The Demolition Man version of LA is being fast tracked.
LAPD getting defunded due to $675 million budget shortfall for the city.
Finally, for a final laugh:
LAPD getting defunded due to $675 million budget shortfall for the city.
Llewellyn insisted the city council enact all of the recommendations in the budget report, to include the LAPD layoffs, 143 layoffs in the City Attorney’s Office, another 45 layoffs in the Animal Services Department, and 27 more in the Bureau of Engineering, KNBC reported.
As a result of the defunding, LAPD was left with no choice but to downsize many specialized units, including its homicide, gang, air support, and narcotics divisions, as homicides soared to the highest level in a decade, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Police officers will no longer respond in person to traffic crashes or other so-called low-priority incidents.
Citizens who are involved in crashes with minor injuries or those who are the victims of hit-and-runs will have to file their own reports online, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Station desks will only be manned during the weekdays.
The police department will no longer have special deployments in high-traffic areas such as Hollywood and Venice, and has also had to cut teams that have helped in the past to deal with homeless issues, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Gascon isn't completely off base here:The cuts to law enforcement come as Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón just put an immediate end to cash bail for misdemeanors that will allow thousands of inmates awaiting trial to be released, KTLA reported.
Gascón said he also planned to do away with cash bail for felonies at the start of the New Year, except in the cases of the most violent offenders.
He also promised to re-evaluate the cases and sentences of defendants who had been convicted under the “Three Strikes” law or who had gang enhancements added to their sentences, The Washington Post reported.
The problem is the country's behavior health system doesn't really exist anymore. The new district attorney has also expressed a desire to direct defendants arrested on low-level offenses related to poverty, addiction, mental illness, and homelessness into behavior health services rather than the criminal justice system, The Washington Post reported.
Finally, for a final laugh:
Why do socialists think money is an infinite resource? Does she not understand the city's $675M budget shortfall and what that means?Meanwhile, Black Lives Matter Los Angeles co-founder Melina Abdullah complained that the defunding “doesn’t go nearly far enough,” the Los Angeles Times reported.
Abdullah said her group will be providing the city with a list of programs where they think the funds diverted from the LAPD should be applied.

Funny stuff.
He's loses me when he gets into covid stuff, but swings it back when he hits the pedo stuff, which should make your blood boil...unless you're a pedo.

Newsom is trying to stop the recall effort against him.
Troy, what's the deal here? What'd he do that was recall worthy?

State informed us today that the Coronavirus vaccines will be available for all 50+ starting 4/1 and 16+ starting 4/15.

woot woot.
So is anyone here not getting the vaccine?
It's not me, it's someone else.

Apparently me.
I was an "essential worker" during the height of the pandemic. My younger wife has already gotten her first shot. My high school kid is now eligible. My 16 year old neighbor that works at the mall is eligible.
Somehow I'm still not...

NC will open up to everyone in a week or two. Some counties already have, since we do it county by county (but you can visit other counties for your shot, no problem)

With the vaccine rollout going along so smoothly here and rock bottom Covid transmission numbers.... Recall is a joke that is never going to happen.

I saw that his approval numbers are around 56%. Seems like a recall is doomed to fail.
Fingers crossed for governor Jenner though because I want to watch the world burn.
